Word Sandwiches | 1st Week of August
Starting in August, I began a series called "Word Sandwiches."
Japanese, which uses a mix of native words (yamato-kotoba), Sino-Japanese words, and loanwords, is just like a sandwich.
It is a small dish where I savor the day's realizations and discoveries by sandwiching them between words.
This week, I collected the "fun of the Japanese language" found in everyday life, such as how to count numbers, the origins of the days of the week, counters, and the sound of kanji.
