[Grandpa's Grumbles] What if I started a 'Grandpa Heard It!' series!?
(Grandpa) I'm in a pinch for grandchild stories. Tell me something!
(Grandchild) Instead of always trying to get stories out of me, why don't you ask Grandma or Dad and post those instead?
(Grandpa) But grandchild stories are the best. That's the whole point of the 'Grandpa's Grumbles' series, after all 😅
(Grandchild) Why don't you turn the stories you hear from the family into a 'Grandpa Heard It!' series?
(Grandpa) But you see...
(Grandchild) I bet when you hear stories like this, you say 'That's great' and then use them as material for 'Grandpa's Grumbles' later, right?
(Grandpa) Oh, that's great.
(Grandchild) You should listen to stories from Grandma and others and start a 'Grandpa Heard It!' series. Got it?
(Grandpa) Well, I'll think about it later.
Anyway, since my grandchild is now 10 years old and in the fourth grade, it's getting pretty tough to start a conversation just to fish for material like this.
Well, in times like these, I have no choice but to be patient and wait for the moment when my grandchild provides the material themselves.
By the way, recently, my grandchild has started reading novels. It's not just YouTube anymore; they're actually saying things like 'Buy me a book,' which makes me so happy.
I don't know much about it, but when we go to the local bookstore together, they head straight for the Shueisha 'Mirai Bunko' section!

Quoted from the Mirai Bunko website
There are so many novels with quite flashy covers. When did bookstores start covering this kind of section? (I'm sure I just didn't know because I never come over here.)
I also felt that perhaps the younger generation of readers is recovering more than I thought.
Publishers are thinking ahead, aren't they? By turning 'Demon Slayer' and 'Dragon Ball' into novels, they are lowering the hurdle for children to pick up a book and try reading a novel to see how fun it is.
My grandchild won't read the books I force on them, saying 'How about this one?', but they can be proactive about reading Mirai Bunko books that are the talk of the town among their friends.
It was great that they became interested in 'books' on their own like that.
As it was written in the Mirai Bunko description, if they learn the joy of 'reading' instead of just watching clip videos, they'll get closer to being a 'Grandpa's Grumbles' reader, and if they also discover the joy of 'writing,' then the birth of a future noter is not just a dream.
I'm definitely in a pinch for grandchild stories, but I'll keep trying to gather material naturally without rushing!?
Thank you for reading until the end.
