Have you ever heard of "MEXCBT"?
I wonder if those of you with children in school know about it?
Apparently, it's called Mekubitto.
It is an online learning system developed by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT)and it is called MEXCBT because it combines MEXT and Computer Based Testing (CBT).
After the realization of one terminal per student through the promotion of the GIGA School Concept,it is a tool for digital learning that is different from traditional paper mediaand it seems that its use has already started in some elementary, junior high, and high schools nationwide since November 2021.

✅ What is a Learning e-Portal?
In the first part, let's look atMEXCBT and Learning e-Portals.
In the second part, let's follow the analysis of learning logs.
First, the Learning e-Portal. It has the 'e' from e-mail, doesn't it?
A Learning e-Portal is what you might call a digital/network learning infrastructure. In other words, it is ateaching material management toolthat utilizes the web.
On the other hand, for MEXCBT, I think it would be best to call it adigital test infrastructure.
To simplify, I think you can have the image thatthe Learning e-Portal is for teaching materials, and MEXCBT is for tests.
That digital/network learning infrastructure has an usage image like this.

1. Learning Portal Function
A function that allows for the integrated visualization and utilization of compatible data from various learning resources (digital textbooks, teaching materials, various tools, etc.) via the Learning e-Portal. (Function examples)

・Visualization/Analysis function(Connecting learning and instruction improvements by visualizing and analyzing learning records <study logs> from MEXCBT and various tools)
2. Coordination Hub Function

3. Access function for MEXT system (MEXCBT)
*The single sign-on function is a feature that allows users to utilize various educational software without having to log in to each one individually, provided they have already logged into the Learning e-Portal, thus avoiding the need to enter IDs and passwords multiple times.
The coordination hub function is great.It ensures functionality that allows learning information from cram schools, home, and school to be recorded and utilized for individualized instruction.
✅ What is MEXCBT?
Tests are conducted using this digital testing platform to check understanding of learned content.
You all understand the positioning of MEXCBT by now, right? Then, looking at the next sentence, do you understand what
PBT means?
Background
• Currently, unique academic achievement tests are being conducted in approximately 900 local governments, and almost all of them are conducted via PBT.
• While there is growing interest in transitioning to CBT for academic achievement tests, it is anticipated that if each local government uses different systems and data formats, know-how and expertise will become scattered.
• To maximize the benefits of transitioning to CBT, it is effective to enable the sharing of expertise between the national government and local governments.

CBT stands for Computer Based Testing, but could you imagine what "PBT" is? Yes, PBT is an abbreviation for Paper Based Testing, which refers to the conventional paper-based test. It makes you want to say, "Just write it that way."
In the demonstration experiment at the Kasugai City Board of Education, it seems they used the system to conduct tests like this.

Instead of using tools like Google Forms or Office 365 Forms to create exam questions, they seem to be insisting on the domestic MEXCBT.
