When you want to eat a hearty meal of meat casually! Satisfy your masculine appetite at the cost-performance excellent "The Steak House" (Odakyu-Sagamihara Station)
In this era of inflation, even "Ikinari Steak" has finally seen the price of its 200-gram (Wild Steak) cross into the 2,000 yen range following the price revision in November 2025.
Moreover, since this is just the price for the meat, it comes to nearly 3,000 yen when you make it a set, and I truly miss the days when I could eat steak casually.
However, today I will introduce a cost-effective steak house near Odakyu-Sagamihara Station (commonly known as Odasaga) on the Odakyu Odawara Line that will remind you of those previous feelings.
Before that, a little trivia.
There is a "Sagamihara Station" on both the JR Yokohama Line and the Odakyu Line, but the JR side is named "Sagamihara Station" and the Odakyu side is named "Odakyu-Sagamihara Station."
Before the war, the place name Sagamihara did not exist, and the "SagamiharaMilitary City Plan" was considered the most likely candidate for the "urban planning project name" associated with the development of military facilities, and it is said that this name was first adopted as a station name on the Odakyu side.
Therefore, at first, the Odakyu Line station name was simply "Sagamihara Station." Later, the center of the military city plan moved to the current JR Yokohama Line side, and a "Sagamihara Station" was also built on the JR side, leading to an unexpected duplication of station names.
The JR (then Japanese National Railways) held immense power, and it seems the Odakyu side deferred and changed the name to "Odakyu-Sagamihara Station."
Returning to the main topic.
That steak house is "The Steak House," located about an 8-minute walk from Odasaga Station along the Thousand Road Sagamidai Shopping Street.
When you enter the store and look at the menu, you can see that it is broadly divided into steak-based, hamburger-based, and pork-grilled-baseddishes.
What surprised me a little was that this price includes rice and is tax-inclusive, and there is no extra charge even if you order the super-large serving of rice (500g). There is no doubt that this is a conscientious shop.

Honestly, when I just looked at the menu, I also assumed a scenario where the price was reasonable, but the taste was a bit...
Now, let's try the steak-based dishes.
Only disposable chopsticks were provided, so I thought, "Huh?" because there were no knives or forks, but when I put the chopsticks in, the beef was soft and fell apart immediately, and the taste was good! Knives and forks are completely unnecessary.
I felt that it might be a blessing to be able to eat soft, delicious steak for just over 1,000 yen in this day and age.
Since then, I have started repeating visits and have also tried other types.
For my second visit, I tried the "Garlic Soy Sauce" pork dish, which is introduced as an addictive popular menu item.
My mouth was watering the moment it arrived. This garlic soy sauce glaze is rich and delicious! The level of satisfaction when eating it on top of steaming hot rice is quite high.
For my third visit, I tried the Garlic Hamburg Steak, which is the No. 1 popular menu item among the hamburg steak options.
This is essentially the hamburg steak version of the pork "Garlic Soy Sauce" dish, and it is also tender, juicy, and truly delicious!
Being able to eat a delicious meat dish for around 1,000 yen including tax brings me a sense of happiness, and it's a place I'll keep pedaling my bike to for lunch in the future.
So far, I've been leaning towards the garlic-based options, so I'd like to check out the other topping menus as well.
