The Truth About Sex and Life: Why I Join a Men's Circle

I participate in a men's circle that has the concept of
"a place where men can talk honestly about sex and life."

After I got divorced due to a sexless marriage,
the person who inspired me to start learning
about sex and partnerships
is the one who organizes this circle.

The "four types of sex"
introduced in this video are:

1. Reproductive
2. Recreational/Pleasure
3. Regenerative
4. Transformational

Honestly, until now, I only knew
about 1 and 2.
And even then, with a selfish and biased understanding.

As I encountered this video and learned more,
I came to think that sex is
the very act of "living."

And that sex education is "learning how to live."

In fact, the sex education I know
teaches you to "cherish yourself,
and to cherish your partner just as much."

I wanted a place and friends where I could talk
honestly about "sex and life,"
so when I saw the recruitment post, I signed up immediately.

Here, we meet online once a month
to talk with other participants.
Other than that, we interact daily on a private social network.

・You don't have to act tough
・You can bring everything to the table
・You don't have to provide the right answer
・Just a place to sit as you are

You don't have to stretch yourself,
and you don't have to tell interesting stories.
You don't have to worry about what others think.

For someone like me who is 'fearful-avoidant',
it is a place where I can feel at ease.

It will likely be gradual,
but I think having a place like this in my daily life
will be a salvation.

If I had to point out one thing,
it is that when I start to feel 'intimacy'
by opening my heart,
I tend to try to distance myself.

I just have to keep being conscious of this
so that I can notice it when that tendency appears.

The first meeting was at the end of last month, and the second one is planned soon.
It has only just begun, but I am looking forward to the future.
