This time, I'd like to change the perspective a little and introduce "Amanohashidate enjoyed from the sea".

A marina that began with the Kyoto National Sports Festival

Tai Miyazu Yacht Harbor was originally a facility developed by Kyoto Prefecture to coincide with the hosting of the Kyoto National Sports Festival.

Afterward, it was sold to Miyazu City and is currently operated under a designated management system.

When we took on the designated management, we thought about whether we could make this place more than just a place for boat storage, but a place where people could enjoy the sea more casually.

The word "marina" might give the impression of a place used by people who own their own yachts or boats.

Of course, Tai Miyazu Yacht Harbor also has a boat yard, boat storage, piers, and launching equipment, and we handle the storage and management of vessels.

However, right in front of us is Miyazu Bay, and beyond that is Amanohashidate.

It feels a bit wasteful to keep it as a place only for those who own boats.

Therefore, we have gradually been creating an environment where even those who don't own a boat can head out to sea.

Heading to the sea of Amanohashidate without owning a boat

In fact, many people who have a boat license do not own their own boat.

If you buy a boat, you need a place to store it.

Maintenance is also necessary, and naturally, there are maintenance costs.

"I got my license, but buying a boat is..."

I think there are quite a lot of people who feel this way.

So, at Tai Miyazu Yacht Harbor, we have been enhancing our rental club.

Even if you don't own a boat, you can rent one when you want to ride and head out to sea.

In terms of cars, it might be close to the feeling of using a rental car instead of your own car.

Little by little, people have come to know this convenience, and the number of marina members has increased.

Viewing Amanohashidate from the sea

When you get on a boat, the familiar Amanohashidate looks a little different.

When viewing it from land, Amanohashidate itself is the destination.

But when you head out to sea, Amanohashidate becomes part of the scenery surrounding Miyazu Bay.

Viewing the pine groves from the sea.

Viewing the mountains on the land side.

Seeing the town from the opposite side than usual while sailing through Miyazu Bay.

It is a completely different view from seeing Amanohashidate from View Land or Kasamatsu Park.

Taking a sightseeing boat is fun, but for those who can pilot their own boat, there is the joy of sailing the sea at your own pace.

Even if you have a boat license, you might not have used it much lately.

I would like such people to try sailing in Miyazu Bay at least once.

Fishing by boat from Tai

At Tai Miyazu Yacht Harbor, there are also fishing charter boats.

"I want to try sea fishing, but I'm a little uneasy about piloting a boat myself"

If you are a beginner, first leave it to the captain and go fishing.

If you love fishing, you can also enjoy it in earnest according to the fish you are targeting and the fishing method.

Many fishing enthusiasts use charter boats based in Tai, and you can see people heading out to sea from the marina in the morning.

Coming to Amanohashidate, sightseeing, and eating seafood.

There is no need to go to the trouble of getting in a car and moving to a hotel.

Even after checking in, you can walk along the seaside or look at the boats lined up at the pier.

Time flows a little differently here than at a typical hotel or inn.

Especially if you like boats and fishing, I would like you to see the marina in the morning.

From the quiet hours, boats heading out for fishing gradually head out to sea.

The morning after you stay, head straight to the sea.

Being able to take such a trip is because there is accommodation inside the marina.

Walking to Tai Beach

If you stay in the summer, you can enjoy the sea without even getting on a boat.

We also recommend walking to the nearby Tai Beach.

Rather than a beach in a large tourist area, it is a seaside where you can feel Miyazu Bay close by.

Walk to the sea in your swimsuit from Aqua Village.

After swimming, walk back again.

Just not having to take the car out makes playing in the sea much easier.

I think it's also nice to relax by the seaside from the daytime.

If you don't have plans to drive, spending time drinking beer is also a very summer-like time.

Of course, don't swim after drinking alcohol.

I think it's just right to relax while looking at the sea as it is.

To the hidden gem of Oppama

If you want to see a slightly quieter sea, try venturing out to "Oppama."

This is a place I previously featured in an article introducing hidden beaches in Kyoto.

There are rocky areas as well as sandy beaches, and on days when the water is clear, you can enjoy yourself just by looking into the sea.

I think it's an interesting place for those who enjoy snorkeling or tide pool exploring.
Around Amanohashidate, there are small seas like this in addition to the famous tourist spots.

To the hot springs after playing in the sea

Once you return from the sea, it's time for the hot springs.

At Aqua Village Kyoto Amanohashidate, you can enjoy natural hot springs while staying overnight.

It is truly a wonderful feeling to be able to go straight to the hot springs after swimming or marine activities.

Furthermore, you can also enjoy a tent sauna.

Play in the sea.

Go into the sauna.

Relax in the hot springs.

Start a BBQ in the evening.

Even without visiting many tourist spots, your day will be quite full.

I think it's fine to reduce your plans that much on a day you come to the sea.

Also, for those who want to try a slightly unusual experience, there is the option of the nearby "Enzyme Bath Ho SUI".

It is a completely different experience from boats or the sea, but it might be interesting to combine it as a time to rest your body.

Enjoying a BBQ by the seaside

For dinner, a BBQ is recommended, as befits the seaside.

When you play in the sea during the day, you get quite hungry by the evening.

Instead of changing clothes and going out to a restaurant, you just start a BBQ.

When you eat near the sea, the atmosphere changes a little, even for the same BBQ.

Personally, I think the time to enjoy Tai is from summer to autumn.

In summer, there is swimming and marine activities.

You can spend the whole day in the real sea, not a pool.

When autumn comes, fishing and cruising become interesting.

It is not as hot as midsummer, and there are more days that are comfortable to spend on a boat.

And when you return from the sea, go to the hot springs.

BBQ at night.

Stay overnight and look at the sea again the next morning.

Being able to change how you play depending on the season is also an interesting part of Miyazu Bay.

Enjoying Amanohashidate from the sea

When people say Amanohashidate, they inevitably think of "sightseeing by looking."

Amanohashidate seen from the observatory is, of course, beautiful.

But if you have come as far as Miyazu, I think you should try going out to the sea at least once.

If you have a boat license, head to Miyazu Bay with a rental boat.

If you don't have a license, go fishing on a fishing boat.

In summer, enjoy swimming or marine activities.

And stay at the yacht harbor at night.

You can enjoy the sea even if you don't own a boat.

Actually, it might be better to start from such a casual point at first.
