【"Children's Library Hotaru" Opens August 2nd】

Hearing that the private library "Children's Library Hotaru," planned by Junichiro Otsuki, founder of AXIS Inc. and representative director of the general incorporated association "Hotaru Gakusha," had opened, I visited immediately to see what kind of library it was.

It utilizes the building of the former Akasaka Ordinary Higher Elementary School, which is registered as a National Tangible Cultural Property.
The exterior has an atmosphere that somehow makes you feel at ease and makes you want to step inside. When you open the door, the first thing that catches your eye is, surprisingly, a "swing."
And then, a wide-open space.

Going straight up to the second floor and opening the door, a space that feels like a "forest" straight out of an anime spreads out before you, making me go, "Wow! ❤️"
This is a library, right?
Inside this space that doesn't look like a library, books are casually lined up, and a mysterious world unfolds.

It seems you are free to read books anywhere, and you can relax and take your time, whether swinging on the swing or lying down to read.

There are about 3,000 books in the library, including some selected by Mr. Otsuki.

It feels like a library in the middle of a forest; it is a space where you can enjoy reading at your leisure while feeling the warmth of the wood and being soothed by wonderful art.
