Day 1 of My Comeback | Sunday nights, I still can't quite sleep

I got about 6 hours of sleep today.

To be honest, I had a hard time falling asleep last night.
One reason is that I suddenly decided to start writing on Note yesterday... haha.

I don't regret staying up a bit late to write on Note at all. It was a valuable opportunity I decided to take in order to live my best life.

I always feel a little restless on Sunday nights.

The reality that Monday is starting.
The feeling that another week is beginning.

It's not that I hate my job.

But somewhere inside, I feel a sense of unease.

Yesterday, in addition to that unease,
I also had the anxiety of, "Can I really keep this up?"

Even so, I started reading.

Today is Monday. Another week is starting... I'm sure many people feel gloomy.
It's also because we feel a little regret that we could have made our holidays more fulfilling.

I still felt a bit sleepy. But perhaps because I started my comeback yesterday, I woke up better than usual and my motivation was good.

Today,I headed to the office with the book I bought recently.
I arrived at the office a little early, so I read for about 10 minutes in the car.

I felt that reading in the morning is quite a pleasant thing to do.

I managed to get through my tedious work, and it ended without any particular trouble today.
I was able to reset my feelings well for the next weekend holiday.

After getting home, I tried to reach for my smartphone as usual. But yesterday's declaration crossed my mind.

I decided to open my book.

20 minutes of reading.

It was only 20 minutes.

But the me from yesterday
would have put off those 20 minutes until "someday."

Until now, when I got home from work, I would immediately touch my smartphone. I would open YouTube for no reason and watch 10 or 20 short videos. My precious evening time would pass in the blink of an eye.

But, I didn't procrastinate today.

Today's log

Sleep: about 6 hours (woke up at 6 AM)
Reading: 30 minutes
Exercise: none

It's not perfect.

But, the results aren't zero either. I managed to do some reading, which I don't usually do.

Today's general flow

6:00 AM - Woke up
6:00 AM - Morning shower
6:20 AM - Breakfast, took a break with canned coffee
6:30 AM - Left for work
7:30 AM - Reading in the car (10 minutes)
8:00 AM - Work
7:00 PM - Finished work
8:00 PM - Dinner
8:20 PM - Reading
8:40 PM - Writing note

Things I noticed

Restarting might be
more about getting through weak nights than having strong determination.

I might still have trouble sleeping on Sunday nights from now on.

But, whether I just face Monday as is,
or face it after doing a little something.

That alone makes a difference.

Today is Day 1 of my restart.

I have anxiety.
I also feel sleepy.

But, I opened a book.

I think that is enough.

My restart has begun quietly.

By the way.

It seems many people have trouble sleeping on Sunday nights.

The reasons are

・Disrupted daily rhythm
・Stress from switching into work mode
・Overthinking

The countermeasures are

✔ Light exercise on Sunday afternoon
✔ Not looking at my smartphone too much at night
✔ Creating one thing to look forward to on Monday morning

I want to be mindful of these things moving forward.
Monday is depressing, but it is one important day of my life. I must never waste it!

Today's lesson

World-class executives work in order to "rest"

This is something written in the book I started reading today, "What Do World-Class People Do on Their Days Off?"

Instead of thinking of
days off = time for rest,"The day off is the main event!"is the mindset.

I have a tendency to make work the main focus, but seeing this really struck a chord. I felt that just by being conscious of how to spend a wonderful day off, life could become several times more enjoyable...

There are surely not a few people who work with a focus on their jobs. But, thinking that if that job fails, your life is over (which is too extreme) is not good. It seems many Japanese people think this way.

Work is important, but"how I can make my own life wonderful"is something I want to be conscious of.

Finally

I started this note yesterday, and despite it being the beginning, I was able to get "4 likes."

I thought no one would see this, so I am surprised.

Today's article might get "0 likes," but I want to keep it as an important record of having spent this precious day.
