Creative Storytelling: Why I Focus on Bespoke Stories—Why Stories Are Fantasy
In the field of psychology, there are approaches like narrative therapy and sandplay therapy.
What I aim to achieve with the title of 'story writer' is:
A way of being that I call 'story therapy'.
I hope that by experiencing a 'story world prepared just for you' through an alter ego that is both you and not you, you can find healing, encouragement, and the strength to take a step forward.
Facing your own 'heart' directly can be raw, painful, and exhausting. There is definitely a stage where looking at it head-on is just impossible.
But perhaps you can touch upon it if you are a little (or a lot) removed from the painful reality.
If the setting is something removed from reality, like fantasy, you might be able to project your feelings more easily.
I also think it makes it harder for psychological brakes like 'that's impossible' or 'even though that happened?' to kick in.
I myself tended to avoid things directly connected to my own world when I was struggling. Even now, I avoid documentaries in my own field because they pierce my heart too directly.
Based on my own experiences and feelings, the stories I deliver are, unless there is a special reason otherwise, set in 'slightly mysterious' fantasy-leaning stages.
This is so that you can receive the power to heal and support yourself in just the right amount, at a pace and timing that doesn't touch upon the pain of your current heart or body.
Also, I am extremely particular about the beauty of the visual imagery. Even though it is made of words, I aim for visual beauty. I believe that a sense of immersion into the unreal is essential for a 'story,' so I am training every day.
You can never have too much vocabulary and imagination (I declare).
