[AI Video Stroll] 10 Selected AI Music Videos (Ambient) - Where the Value of Video is Heading -

Once again, it's been a little while since my last "AI Video Stroll."

This time, the video stroll features a genre I stumbled upon while browsing the net: "Ambient." Many of you might find the terms "environmental video" or "background music for work" more familiar.

For a long time, content featuring long-form music as background audio has been a staple genre on YouTube. Until now, the standard was to use a "still image" for the visuals, but with the arrival of generative AI, a rapid shift toward "video" is currently underway.

The sci-fi and other genre videos I've covered in this series are now frequently appearing in long-form versions exceeding one hour.

Now, let's take a look at some actual videos. (Though, watching them all is a huge task 💦)

Surreal AI Film • A Very Unusual Town | When the Fields Turn Gold Again (4K)

A world featuring unique doll-like characters continues for nearly four hours. The music is pleasant and easy to listen to, making it excellent background music, but the visuals are also of such high quality that it feels like a waste to just let them play in the background without watching.

1950s Voyage Across the Ocean | Mirellia's Vintage Songs

This has the texture of moving paintings, similar to the "painting-style" videos I've introduced before. This one is also over three hours long. The match between the music and the visuals is excellent, and I find myself drawn into the screen.

Echoes of Namibia — Deep Healing African Ambient Music | 3 Hours

In ambient videos, African music and ethnic music seem to be a staple. With visuals of landscapes slowly drifting by, it is a classic environmental video that doesn't distract the eyes.

Carpathian Memory - Healing Romanian Folk Music | A Musical Journey to Eastern Europe Spun by Nai Flute and Nostalgic Vocals | World Music

Among the ethnic music genre, this was a very easy-to-listen-to video. I suspect it uses a mix of actual footage alongside AI generation. It's becoming difficult to distinguish where reality ends and AI begins.

A Elegant Morning in Classic 1950s Bruges Café 💐 Spring Jazz for Slow Afternoons

Light jazz is a staple for healing background music. The screen features a parade of beauties with the class of movie stars, but since they are AI, I assume there were no "appearance fees" involved.

Silent Starfield — Relaxing Ambient and Drifting into the Infinite Universe | 4K HDR

When it comes to representative environmental videos, space fantasy visuals are a go-to. The music is genuine background music, intentionally designed not to stick in your ears. The visuals also use a style close to still images, with landscapes slowly drifting by.

Cinematic Steampunk Space Voyage (4K HDR) | Luxury Interstellar Journey Ambient Film

Whether it's space or fantasy, this features more close-ups of buildings and characters than the previous space-themed one, resulting in a more cinematic visual experience.

Future City 2190 (1 Hour, 4K): Walking Through Tomorrow | Relaxing Ambient Music

This is also sci-fi, but the appearance of a beautiful woman in a futuristic city creates a high eye-catching effect.

Moon Over Blackwater Valley | Medieval Celtic Ambience of Summer for Studying and Reading

In terms of being fully immersed in a world, fantasy themes are also well-suited for ambient music. The music also matches the background music of games and movies.

4K HDR | Interstellar Starship Cruise | White Noise & Deep Space Ambience for Sleep, Focus, Study |

This is also a space sci-fi piece, but it is an ultra-long video exceeding "10 hours." It makes one imagine that from AI video generation to editing, complete automation is likely already underway.

[NO AI] - EXODUS - Epic Space Journey Ambient Music | Sci-Fi Cinematic For Work, Focus & Relax

Finally, as a bonus, here is a video that explicitly states "NO AI" in the title. I think this is a typical example of how it is now more meaningful to advertise that you are "not using AI." Including the differences in how the video is made, it reflects the current era.

Videos that used to be just a few minutes long, like those I have introduced in various genres of "AI Video Walk," are now being mass-produced in lengths of several hours without hesitation in less than a year. (It is even hard to find the repeat points.)
Faced with this reality, I am beyond surprised and am in a state close to a kind of sensory paralysis.

What we are witnessing now is a change in the value of "video" itself, which is the premise for the question of "whether creation itself will be replaced by AI." With videos flooding the space to this extent and becoming a part of mass consumption, the value of creation will naturally change as well.

In other words, it may not be that the value of ambient BGM is increasing due to video, but rather a symbol of that value being lostthrough the ambientization of video.
