The existence known as [Inu x Boku SS]

It is the work that started me watching anime,
and I sincerely respect the original author,Cocoa Fujiwara.

She debuted in middle school, you know.
I was in my first year of high school when I found out we were the same age.
The fact I learned during my impressionable years quickly turned from admiration into hope.

I have followed her work since her debut,
and when I heard this work was being adapted into an anime,
I was as happy as if it were my own.

She is the only manga artist I have ever sent a fan message toand
she even replied very kindly on mixi.
It is a precious memory.

Song Commentary

I have created about 8 original songs so far, and since this is my
most confident work I have been sharing it in various places like this as a business card.

Five of them are songs inspired by [Inu x Boku SS], and this is the culmination of those (the 5th song).

A feature is that all 5 songs include the koto.
Though 3 of them also include the shamisen.

Even though it's a derivative work, I only include it in the theme of the lyrics, so
I don't think it's that close to the original work.

Since it is themed around the final phase and the biggest battle scene in [Inu x Boku SS],
Mikoto Inugami's Hyakki Yako I wanted to make it a fierce sound.

As shown in the title, the goal was "to sound like Matenrou Opera".
But what I actually used as a reference was Janne Da Arc's Confusion and Strange Voice.

The listening experience is closest to Onmyo-za or Wagakki Band, but
I haven't been influenced by either at all.
I mean, Wagakki Band hadn't even been born yet when I made this song.

There are few intense Japanese-style songs!
Well, why don't I just make one myself, that was the motivation for starting my solo project.
I'm satisfied with Wagakki Band now, though. Happy.

Lyrics Commentary

Lyrically, this is a complete Mikoto Inugami perspective that I couldn't do in [Yoru].
When [Fu Rinka San] was released, Inu x Boku SS volume 7 hadn't been released yet, so
I couldn't quite grasp Mikoto-kun's feelings.

So I made it vague and blurred so it could also look like Shimon-san's journal, but
I was finally able to focus on Mikoto-kun this time.

Well, since I don't know at this point if the one sleeping in the Millennium Cherry Blossom is truly a "captured princess," I'll just treat her as an existence corresponding to that.
Mikoto-kun must also have some purpose for causing the Hyakki Yako, so
...well, I'm curious about next month's volume 8 of the manga (laughs).

Since [Yoru] and [Fu Rinka San] refer to my previous songs and CDs,
I'll release those eventually too.

It was still lyrics written based on speculation during the serialization, but
far from sleeping in the Millennium Cherry Blossom,
it was exactly what Mikoto-kun was doing for Shimon-san, so
for something written before the final volume, it was spot on. Nice.

Unlike writing for other people's songs, since I wrote this song myself,
there is a lot of wordplay.
