Virtual ≒ Delusional Tribute Album 2021

As I declared yesterday, I would like to present an updated version of the
“What if a Janne tribute album were released”
fantasy I had in 2014, updated for 2021.

So, let's start with the lineup.

Commentary Janne Da Arc tribute 'Dearly'

This is a dream team that it would be presumptuous to even call an ideal, but
please let me provide some commentary, including explanations of each artist.

I have also included the article from 2014 for comparison.

01 Mysterious / BREAKERZ

I think they would definitely participate if this were released.
DAIGO, yasu's well-known close friend, was on avex with FAIRY FORE, and
AKIHIDE has also participated in ABC. I don't think the song would feel out of place either. @2014

Now that Being has released one,
this is a great chance now that DAIGO is active with cover songs.
This opening is still the most likely candidate.

02 RED ZONE / THE MICRO HEAD 4N's

●RED ZONE / Crack6+Ricky
This also features Chisato, who participates in ABC, and Ricky, who was in the former avex band DASEIN.
Ricky is often on cover albums, so this might also have a high probability.
I thought this song would suit these kinds of embarrassing lyrics. @2014

I had Ricky listed at first, but I changed it.
I felt like I wanted to hear the current vocalist of THE MICRO HEAD 4N's sing it.
Also, when I thought of this, Nimo, who I will mention later, was the vocalist for MyFo.

03 feel the wind / †яi￠к

Even if it's not La'cryma Christi, I think SHUSE would participate in some way.
Also, I thought if there is a connection with YUKI, maybe there is one with MAKOTO too?
They both participated in the DEAD END tribute, after all. @2014

†яi￠к is a band that includes the former vocalist of Λucifer.
Since almost all the members here participated in the DEAD END tribute,
it seems possible even if it's not the whole band.

04 Gekkoka / rice

I remember Raphael and I were on the cover of a magazine together, so we must have been close.
And if anyone were to sing their big hit song Gekkouka, it would have to be Yuki.

rice is a unit consisting of the vocalist and drummer from Raphael.
However, they hardly ever participate in these kinds of project albums.
I'm sure YUKI's voice would suit Gekkouka perfectly.

05 DOLLS / Plastic tree

I don't know how Plastic Tree feels about Janne, but when yasu explains his songs, he often says,
"This sounds like Plastic Tree, right?" so I think they're close.
I couldn't find a song that fits Ryu's voice, so I just picked one at random. @2014

The explanation above is from an interview about the Janne song "Plastic".
It's a mystery whether Ryutaro's voice would actually suit Janne, though.

06 Kasumiyuku Sora Seo ni Shite / Psycho le Cemu

●Kasumiyuku Sora Seo ni Shite / NINJAMAN JAPAN
They were together with Psycho le Cemu at KINGDOM, and above all,
kiyo participated in NINJAMAN JAPAN's "Sho" released this year, so everyone please listen to it (direct marketing). @2014

It seems NINJAMAN JAPAN is on hiatus, so I've swapped them for Psycho le Cemu.
They've played on the same bill before, so it should be a natural fit.

07 ROMANCE / Nanase Aikawa + Hajime Okano +

yasu has provided two songs for Nanase Aikawa, and she's on avex.
Plus, she's on the cutting edge label. But since Aikawa-san is such a senior artist, I wonder if she'd participate. @2014

As a result, she ended up being the only woman...
I definitely think it would be a great fit.

08 BLACK JACK / defspiral

●BLACK JACK / Nightmare
I was debating whether to put Nightmare here or there, but
their careers aren't that far apart in terms of respect, right? I don't think their musical styles are that far off either. @2014

I found out that the guitarist ryo is close with them, and
since Nightmare's Sakito formed a unit with ViViD's SHIN, I've swapped them in.
I can't imagine Janne with TAKA's voice, though.

09 Diamond Virgin / jealKB

Personally, I don't dislike these guys.
But if they actually participated, I think there would be a lot of backlash, in a bad way.
Still, their names are in the special thanks of every ABC release. @2014

I think jealkb deserves more recognition.
Also, this song selection is based on past emotional episodes.

10 Judgement -Shinigami no Kiss- / Bull Zeichen88

IKUO and Jun-ji will probably participate in this somehow.
Or rather, I want them to.
But I can't think of any songs where I feel this band's arrangement would fit. @2014

Listening to it after a long time, it's become insanely cool...
Was Jun-ji actually holding back during his SIAM SHADE days?
He's been doing nothing but metalcore lately.

11 Mr.Trouble Maker / ANCHANG

It's true they are close. But I have the impression he was closer to Noisy than ANCHANG.
Also, I think Janne's songs suit metal arrangements regardless of which one you pick. @2014

ANCHANG is the vocalist of SEX MACHINEGUNS.
I feel like they were often compared to each other back then.

12 Rainy ~Ai no Shirabe~ / Crack6+tatsuo+Ricky

●Rainy ~Ai no Shirabe~ / KOTO
Totally an insider. But I wonder if they won't participate (lol).
They have participated in both ABC and you's solo work.
By the way, Azumi Inoue participated in ANOTHER STORY ← Trivia @2014

Since it's unclear if KOTO is still active, I'm replacing them.
Crack6 includes Chisato from PENICILLIN and Norini Nagano from everset.
tatsuo is a co-producer for Golden Bomber's Sho Kiryuin while working with everset.
And Ricky has been a guest for Crack6 and is currently in DASEIN.

13 Furimukeba... / wyse

They definitely won't participate, right? ← But in the wyse newsletter after their revival,
wasn't Janne the only band name that came out of TAKUMA's mouth regarding past対盤 (taiban) partners?
They were together at KINGDOM too. Above all, it's a win for me ← @2014

In 2019, who would have thought shuji would participate in wyse...
kiyo and you have also been guests. Now it's the most likely to happen.

14 will～A Place Not on the Map～ / La'cryma Christi

The members are all really close, aren't they? But do La'cryma even release covers? (lol) @2014

La'cryma Christi did reunite, but there's been no word since then.
Well, they are one of the rare bands that are actually close with Janne.

15 stare / Dear Loving

They'd never be the ones to headline over La'cryma and the others, though (lol).
But I'd still want them to participate.
yasu even contributed a comment for Dear Loving's latest album,
and it sounds a bit like Fanatic Crisis, so everyone please go buy it

I think Dear Loving deserves more recognition, too.
Well, I know the reason why they were shunned by everyone, so it can't be helped,
but that was a long time ago... I've always loved their songs.

●Vampire / HYDE

It's too intimidating, so they probably wouldn't participate lol. But everyone wants to hear it, right?
And I think Hyde is the only one who could get away with doing Vampire besides yasu. @2014

hyde is the one yasu shows the most respect to.
He's relatively easygoing, so I feel like he might actually do it now.

Commentary: Janne Da Arc respect 『MESSIAH』

Those who inherit Janne's genes.
Please let me provide some commentary, including descriptions of each artist.

I've included the article from 2014 for comparison.

01 Sylvia / DaizyStripper

They would definitely participate (lol).
Also, Sylvia wouldn't work key-wise unless it was Yugiri.
But surprisingly, the members haven't really mentioned Janne's name, have they?
Still, the influence is clearly there @2014

In 2019, it was finally revealed that they had a huge influence.
But it was so surprising that the first one they did was Lunatic Gate.
Though, it didn't feel out of place at all.

02 Maria no Tsumeato / FEST VAINQUEUR

It's a sure thing (lol). kiyo produced them back in his SINCREA days, after all.
Though, I wonder if HAL can hit these notes ←
I think the cheesy lyrics suit the band, too. They could probably pull off any of them, though @2014

If a tribute album were to be released,
I feel like I'd start a riot if I couldn't participate for some reason.
That's how much obsessive love I feel for them.

03 DRY? / SID

I don't know if they have a connection like Nightmare does.
It's just that the Janne fans around me generally like SID too.
This slot could be An Cafe, but I don't like them, so they're out of the running ← @2014

Don't you get the image that SID is always participating in tribute albums?
They are the only Visual Kei band to participate in the L'Arc-en-Ciel one, too.
So, I want them to do Janne while they're at it.

04 Strange Voice / Matenrou Opera

Ayame is heavily influenced by them. But I can't think of anything that would suit Sono's voice (sweat).
This song would definitely sound cool in terms of band sound, but
I wonder about the vocals. @2014

2021. Who would have thought Sono would sing Janne for us.
It felt a bit strange, as expected, but I'm looking forward to a metal arrangement.

05 R-type [Hitomi no Iro] / SEESAW

●R-type [Hitomi no Iro] / ViViD
I don't know about their interviews or anything, but having listened to their recordings so far,
I won't let them say they aren't influenced by them lol
Neither the lyrics nor the music feel out of place. If you haven't heard it, give it a listen. Especially Re:Load

SEESAW is a unit consisting of the vocalist from ViViD and the guitarist from Nightmare.
And 2020. Who would have thought SHIN would sing Janne for us.
I feel like the things I was fantasizing about 7 years ago are coming true one after another.
So someone, please, plan a tribute album, seriously.

06 Lunatic Gate / Royz

I'm sure they are huge fans. I'm pretty sure one of the members even publicly stated they were a fan.
Wouldn't they arrange this song to sound cool and suit them well? @2014

The members were talking about Janne recently, too.
They've become a mid-tier band now... it's deeply moving.

07 7-seven- / vistlip

Fans of the members, and so on. Maybe Umi?
His hobbies completely overlap with mine.
I'm sure there are several people on my Mixi list who think the same.

Umi was also just talking about this recently.
There really are so many current bandmen who love Janne.
As a fan, I couldn't be happier, and I also happen to like their songs.

08 Shining Ray / Piko + Sekihan + Pokota + Tissue-hime

There was a cover in a video that has since been deleted, but I don't think it needs to be that intense.
I think a pop version would suit it better.
I don't think he'd participate in something like this, but I want him to release a CD somewhere @2014

It's like, let's just gather all the Nico Nico Douga-born artists who love V-kei.
By the way, my favorite singer is Piko.

09 seed / Hikaru + Mafumafu

She's connected to ka-yu. Does anyone know the story behind that? (lol)
Like Piko, I wonder if she'd sing it somewhere.
Since she sings Yoshinori Sugimoto's songs, it shouldn't be impossible. @2014

I wondered if Nana Mitani was even active lately, and it turns out she was, just a little.
But if you knew Hikaru loved Janne, you'd want to include him here, right?
……Actually, Hikaru-san, why don't you use the power of money to move this project forward?

10 Destination / Leda + Juri

I only agree with **-san on this, but I think DELUHI was also influenced by them.
Don't you think you and Leda would have a good discussion? And Juri would probably suit anything he sings. @2014

Since Leda joined Acid Black Cherry after this, it was proven.
Because things like this happen, I trust my instincts quite a bit.

11 Sakura / ɑyumu + ko-hei

●Sakura / Manami Numakura & Yumi Hara
These are the only two I can confirm right now who have a Janne cover song
that I've verified on CD.
If there are any others, please let me know (begging) @2014

If nothing else, let's have them participate in Nicori Light Tours.
I will not allow anyone to criticize these two.

●EDEN ~Kimi ga Inai~ / Nimo+Rookie F(ex-A)

Nimo, who hasn't hidden the fact that he's a 'Janner' since his band days, saying 'We are Ace!!',
apparently keeps performing cover songs at his solo concerts too. Keep it up @2014

Since SeanNorth is active, I've started to think that might be fine too.
I wonder if they'd arrange something like Fantasia.

13 Love is Here / BRANDROID

●Love is Here / Blu-Billion
Blu-Billion is said to be the successor to the 'White Janne' sound.
I'm pretty sure the members liked them too.
But it's too refreshing for me, so personally (even if they're called White Janne) it doesn't click. ← I like them normally though @2014

Blu-Billion is apparently breaking up, so I'm swapping them out.
And I've recently confirmed that Re:i from JackRose was indeed in a Janne cover band.
I really want him to sing more openly.

14 Ueta Taiyou / Kaya

●Ueta Taiyou / Femme Fatale
Like the BISTRI sea, Kaya is quite the 'Gyao' (fan).
Plus, Toshi from the former A is there too, so personally I'd love to hear it.
Though Kaya would probably suit Laputa better. @2014

Femme Fatale has also broken up... or so I thought, but they're getting together, aren't they?
And to think Kaya would actually cover Laputa on CD after this.
Your predictions are really sharp, H-B-san.

15 Mobius / ELFENSJóN

Kurose-san's passion for Janne is fully displayed on Twitter as well.
This year, Saiu sent a message to kiyo,
and a miracle occurred where Kurose-san retweeted it.
I'd like to hear KOKOMI-jo sing Janne too. @2014

Asriel has broken up, so I'm swapping in Kurose-san's current project.
It seems quite likely since he seems to have a connection with kiyo.
If UROBOROS were active, it definitely would have suited them.

●Kyuseishu -Messiah- / Hironobu Kageyama

He definitely doesn't respect them, I'm sure (lol),
but I had extra space, so I thought, 'Who would be allowed to sing Messiah?'
That was the result. He's a shuji associate.
Personally, I feel like Masaaki Endoh would suit it better,
but I've never seen them interact. @2014

Proof that shuji is a seriously amazing drummer.
You wouldn't think he'd end up drumming behind this guy.

Afterword

So, that was my imaginary ideal tribute album by Janne fans that I thought up in 2014.
It's amazing, even if I do say so myself, how most of what I wrote back then was correct or has come true.

I haven't touched any of that.Believe me.
I really haven't.
