Complete Guide to Toughness Damage | Summary of Calculation Rules for AP, Weaknesses, and Random Modifiers (Provisional Version)
1. How Base Toughness Damage is Determined
Base toughness damage is determined by the card's AP.
The number of hits does not matter.
If there is an AP change, it is calculated using the AP after the change. *See Image 1

2. Basic Rules for Damage Modifiers
When attacking something other than a weakness
→ Base toughness damage is multiplied by 1/3When a weakness is applied and a weakness attack occurs
→ 1x (no modifier)In the case of random attacks or area-of-effect attacks (other than targeted attacks)
→ Base toughness damage is multiplied by 1/2In the case of random attacks
→ Toughness damage is only dealt to the target that was hit. *See Video 2

3. Handling of Divine Inspiration
**Divine Inspiration 'Toughness Damage Increased by 100%'**
👉 only doubles the base toughness damage (the AP portion). It does not apply to Afterglow or additional toughness damage.
4. Regarding Afterglow and Fixed Toughness Damage
-
Afterglow
Fixed Toughness Damage +1
Even with multi-hits, total +1 only
Various modifiers (weakness, AoE modifiers, etc.) do not apply at all
-
"Toughness Damage +α" listed on cards
Treated as fixed damage
Various modifiers do not apply

⑤ Handling of Signs
-
Signs are treated the same as 0 AP cards
Toughness Damage: 0.5 gauge
-
Treated as the same attribute as the sign applier
Subject to weakness modifier *See image

Examples of modifier combinations
Non-weakness + Random attack
→ 1/6 modifier
(1/3 × 1/2 = 1/6)Non-weakness + Random attack + Divine Inspiration 100% increase
→ 1/3 modifier
(1/3 × 1/2 × 2 = 1/3)-
Example: Non-weakness, random target 3 AP Cobalt Light 4 hits (+1 per hit) + Afterglow 1
Calculation formula
3 × 1/3 × 1/2 + (1 × 4 hits) + 1 (Afterglow)Total: 5.5 gauge

Unverified items (requires verification)
-
When Afterglow + multiple random hits occur
Does Afterglow +1 apply to everyone?
Does +1 only apply to the first target?
Currently, it is difficult to verify because the stagger threshold for minor enemies is low.
Bonus: In the case of EGO skills
Treated as an elemental attack by the wielder
1/3 modifier applied if not a weakness
-
Stagger damage conversion
2EP = 1AP
-
The following modifiers are applied, just like with cards
Weakness modifier
Random attack modifier, AoE attack modifier
This is for a 2EP single-target attack with Instinct attribute Nia equipped

This is for a 2EP single-target attack with Passion attribute Veronica equipped

This is for a 6EP AoE attack with Order attribute (same 0.5 gauge as a non-weakness 3AP AoE attack)

This is for a 6EP AoE attack with Instinct attribute weakness (same 1.5 gauge as a weakness 3AP AoE attack)
