Self-Introduction
Hello.
I am Hironobu Shioda.
My work primarily focuses on business development, organizational development, and place-making.
I have over 20 years of experience in the retail industry.
During the growth phases of brands such as Tully's Coffee and Soup Stock Tokyo, I was involved in store operations, franchise development, site development, and new business ventures,
working directly under executive management to bridge the gap between philosophy and the front lines,
and taking on roles in decision-making processes.
After that,
in the human resources industry, I engaged in the recruitment and career support of executive-level management.
Standing between people with different positions and contexts,
I have supported the process of generating decision-making that moves things forward through dialogue.
Currently,
I am independent as a sole proprietor under the name "YAMANOTE," focusing on business and organizational development.
Working alongside diverse companies, including regional businesses celebrating their 60th anniversary, as well as manufacturers and commercial developers,
I provide project-based support for new business development, commercial development, brand production,
store opening strategies, and organizational building.
Connecting the "spaces between" people, businesses, and places
The theme I have consistently worked on is connecting people, businesses, and places.
Management and the front lines.
Philosophy and action.
Brands and regions.
Numbers and emotions.
When stagnation occurs in those "spaces between,"
both people and organizations cannot exert their true potential.
On the other hand, when the flow is aligned,
people naturally start to move, and new possibilities are born for businesses and places.
I have witnessed that moment
many times.
What I am working on now
Currently,
・Hands-on support for business development and new ventures
・Organizational development and leadership training
・Commercial development and brand production
・Creating spaces for regions and communities
・"Sessions to weave your highest value and mission" for individuals
I am working on things such as...
My core focus is:
Values × Actions × Principles.
People do not move because of what they should do,
but rather when they connect with their own values,
they naturally start to take action.
I value finding that source of heat
and connecting it to action.
Entering my 40s,
I began studying under my mentor in human behavioral science,
Dr. John Demartini.
Encountering the perspective that values manifest in actions
has significantly changed both my own life
and the way I provide support.
What I share on note
In this note,
・Insights from the field of business and commercial development
・Structures for organizational growth and dialogue
・Values and decision-making
・Mechanisms that make people move naturally
・Lessons learned from community and place-making
・Connecting principles to daily life
I write about these themes.
However, to be honest, I often write based on my intuition at the time,
so there is not much consistency.
Whether it is about work
or my own personal exploration,
I try to put my thoughts into words as honestly as possible.
I would be happy if this could serve as an opportunity for readers
to re-examine themselves and their work from a slightly different angle.
Also,
with the theme that understanding oneself leads to better actions,
I host a small-group interactive study session called "AXIS."
Please feel free to join.
