Short Short: And Yet, the Earth Is Tilted

"Hey, isn't the Earth tilted?"
A baseball said on the way home from school. The Earth had no idea what it was talking about.
"What do you mean by tilted?"
"In class, when I look at you from behind, your head is always tilted."

The Earth instinctively straightened its neck. It had been tilted even then. It replied with a bitter expression.
"It's just how I was born. I've always been tilted."
"It bothers me. Because of that, I can't focus in class."
The baseball was serious. At the Sphere Middle School they both attended, the baseball was one of the top students. There were entrance exams this year, too. Not being able to focus in class was a matter of life and death. The Earth reluctantly made a promise.
"I guess I have no choice. I'll be careful."

"It's tilted."
The next day, the baseball thought as it looked at the back of the Earth's head. Because of that, it couldn't absorb Mr. Watermelon's biology lesson either. Irritated, it tapped its temple with its finger. Suddenly, the Earth's head snapped straight, only to tilt again immediately. It seemed to be trying.
"Straight-laced guy."
The baseball chuckled. The two were good friends.
