Short Short: Library Freezing

It started as a minor accident. During a spirit class for first-year students, the clumsy class representative accidentally dropped and broke a sample vial on the floor.
With a sharp crack, the fire spirit inside popped out and, of all places, escaped into the library next door. It happened in an instant.
Sparks flew onto the books, and smoke began to rise. One of the panicked first-years cast a water spell, and the library committee member screamed. Naturally, water ruins books. Both the books and the floor were soaked. The principal, a legendary great wizard, tapped the shoulder of the tearful committee member from behind.
With a soft exhale from the principal, the books froze in an instant. Did you know? Wet paper actually dries better if you freeze it. Everyone gasped in surprise, and the principal let out an 'Oh' of his own.
To everyone's surprise, their voices froze into text and fell to the floor. The principal decided to collect and store them. This is our school's proud 'Voice Freezing Record Method.' That is the story behind this special tale kept in the frozen library.
