#468; Green Monster
There is a slope on the mountain side along a curve in the road about a seven-minute walk from my house. The slope is reinforced with concrete. You might think there is nothing special about this, but the surface of the concrete is covered in a dense growth of moss.
Thanks to the rain clouds located on the outer edge of Typhoon No. 13, it rained just the right amount for two days. Today, after the rain stopped, I happened to pass by and it looked like the moss had regained its vitality, reviving from brown to green.

When it rains, the moss perks up and becomes a very vivid green wall. I have taken the liberty of calling this wall the 'Green Monster.' In the photo, it looks like a color between yellowish-green and green, but around the week before last, when it was unbearably hot, it was a brown wall. Just by raining, it provides entertainment with such a change in color. If it were properly maintained and groomed, it might even become a famous spot.
Because it was so hot before the typhoon, it has only recovered from brown to yellowish-green.

During the rainy season, the 'Green Monster' is so vividly green that even while driving, I almost find myself looking away from the road. And, depending on the angle from which you view it, the tone of the same green color changes.
I have a desire to sit in a folding camping chair and admire the vivid green of the Green Monster, but unfortunately, it is on the side of the road. I cannot do anything dangerous, so I just gaze at it from the sidewalk on the opposite side.
I have a feeling that slopes on the side of the road with such beautiful moss like this probably exist all over Japan. I like them, especially in the summer, because they give a cool impression.
Well then,
