Why I'm not good at voice input. I'm someone who thinks while writing.
Voice input for ChatGPT and Gemini is fast and convenient.
So, I've tried it a few times myself.
But when I try to speak, for some reason, I can't organize my thoughts.
I thought about the reason, and I realized something.
It seems I don't think before I write, but rather discover my thoughts while I'm writing.

Voice input is certainly convenient
Voice input for ChatGPT and Gemini.
Just by speaking, it becomes text.
It's overwhelmingly faster than typing characters by hand.
That's why.
It saves time and is very convenient.
And its power is also very attractive.
So, I've also challenged myself with voice input several times.
But I was not good at voice input
However.
When I try to speak my thoughts.
The words don't come out...
My thoughts don't come together...
In the end, I've experienced several times that I couldn't really put things into words and just finished quickly.
Truth be told, I do think it would be better if I were faster with voice input.
But I couldn't do it.
So, I tried consulting with Chappy from ChatGPT.
I think while I write
Chappy's answer was this.
Perhaps, Mako-chan, you aren't a "person who thinks before writing," but rathera "person who thinks by writing."I think writing isn't just output, but
a process of organizing the vague things in your head.
Yes!
That's it.
I very often organize my thoughts while I'm writing.
Except when I have a conclusion from the start.
"I kind of want to write about this."
From that state, I move my hands and little by little turn my thoughts into text.
Write one sentence.
Read it back.
"That's not quite right," and rewrite it.
That's how the vague things in my head gradually become words.
That's probably why my thoughts don't easily come together just by speaking.
This article was also created while writing
Actually, this article was the same.
It's not that I had a "conclusion" from the beginning.
The starting point was this question of mine.
I'm not good at voice input with Chappy or Gemini...
Since voice input is faster, I've tried it several times.
But with spoken words, what I'm thinking doesn't come together.
Why is that?
At this point, I only knew that
"I'm not good at voice input."
But while having a conversation with Chappy and putting those thoughts into text like this, I realized something.
I am not turning what I've thought into text.
While writing the text, I am discovering what I am thinking.
This article itself taught me that for me, "writing is thinking."
Convenient things don't always suit you
Voice input is certainly convenient.
It becomes words just by speaking, and it's overwhelmingly faster than typing text.
So, I still hope that I can master it.
But.
Convenient things don't necessarily suit me.
For me, the time spent typing text is not just time for inputting sentences.
I think while writing.
I get lost while writing.
I find what I really wanted to say while writing.
My thinking was in the work that couldn't be made efficient.
So, I will probably continue to think while typing text, rather than using voice input.
