University Entrance Exam Diary | "Why doesn't everyone come to cram school?" My second daughter's frustration with going to cram school every day
"Even though they're exam students, everyone doesn't come to cram school."
My second daughter has been saying that with a bit of frustration lately.
For my second daughter, who attends a correspondence high school, cram school is not just a place to study.
I think it's also a place where she watches the backs of her seniors, learns how to spend her time as an exam student, and finds rivals with the same level of passion.
Even if others don't come, my second daughter goes to cram school again today.

"Why doesn't everyone come to cram school?"
"Even though they're exam students, everyone doesn't come to cram school. I wonder why? Don't they want to get into university?"
My second daughter has been a bit dissatisfied lately.
Of course, unlike my second daughter who attends a correspondence high school, many high school students have school until the evening.
She also understands that they have classes on Saturdays.
She understands that much.
However.
When school is over.
When school is closed on Sundays.
Exam students should hole up in cram school and study.
This is what my second daughter considers an "exam student" to be like.
For my second daughter, it seems exam students are supposed to hole up in cram school
My second daughter is a correspondence high school student.
Therefore.
She can freely manage her study time even on weekdays.
My second daughter makes full use of the cram school's self-study room.
She goes when the cram school opens and stays until it closes.
Because.
at home, she tends to slack off.
She intends to take just a short break, but it ends up not being short.
She intends to sleep for just a little bit, but ends up sleeping soundly.
Having experienced such things, my second daughter realized.
Rather than trying hard at home, studying at cram school allows for overwhelmingly higher quality study.
That is why my second daughter, even on rainy days or days when she has a slight headache,
goes to cram school every single day, really every day (lol).
I have watched the senior exam students at cram school
My second daughter started going to cram school relatively early, from her first year of high school.
Thinking about it now, I feel it was very good that she started early.
Because, correspondence high school students rarely have opportunities to interact with other high school students in their daily lives.
If she goes to cram school.
There are seniors in their third year of high school facing university entrance exams.
There are also seniors in their second year of high school who still have a little leeway.
My second daughter has watched such seniors up close.
The amount of study and the attitude toward studying of those who passed.
Conversely, she has also seen the attitudes of seniors who did not get the results they wanted.
I don't think she had the feeling of "observing" at the time.
But looking back now,the figures of the seniors have become a guidepost for my second daughter.
While watching the figures of the seniors, my second daughter was likely learning little by little,
"How should an exam student spend their time?"
It's nice that rivals are decreasing. But, honestly, I want to chase them
So, regarding my second daughter's frustration at the beginning.
"Even though they're exam students, everyone doesn't come to cram school. I wonder why? Don't they want to get into university?"
This is always followed by this.
"Well, I'm happy because my rivals are decreasing."
But the face of my second daughter saying that doesn't look happy at all.
My second daughter continues further.
"I want to chase the people running in front of me.
Because there is someone's back, I also want to work hard to catch up to it."
Yeah.
I understand very well what my second daughter wants to say.
Surely my second daughterwants to hone her skills with other exam students.
She wants there to be people who study with the same level of passion as her.
If possible, even more than her.
Because there are rivals, I can also work hard.
That is likely my second daughter's true feelings.
My second daughter goes to cram school again today
My second daughter has been quietly full of motivation lately.
For my second daughter, who attends a correspondence high school, cram school is likely not just a place to study.
Even if they don't talk much.
Even if everyone is just studying silently.
Surely,it is a place where she connects with seniors, juniors, and classmates more than other children.
Therefore.
My second daughter goes to cram school again today.
