#22 A Visit to a Dream Cafe | kaneko coffee beans KCB Farmette in Kamifurano, Hokkaido

I'm Hatasen, and I'll be starting my training in April with the goal of becoming a new farmer. I write 1,500 to 2,000 characters daily about what I've learned regarding marketing and farm management. Thank you as always for reading.

In the not-too-distant future, my spouse and I want to run a cafe while farming.
That is the fantasy I am nurturing.

I hope this article will be of some help to others who share similar fantasies.

Now, what kind of cafe do I want to run?
To bring a vague image into focus, I recommend visiting cafes that can serve as models.

In this series, I would like to introduce shops that I think are wonderful.

The 20th shop I'm introducing is kaneko coffee beans KCB Farmette in Kamifurano, Hokkaido.
On my way back from skiing in Furano, I was searching Instagram for a place to have a delicious lunch when I discovered a shop renovated from a farmer's barn.

Oh, isn't this just my style!?

Since it was in Kamifurano, it made the trip home a bit longer, but I felt I absolutely had to go, so I dragged my family along and headed to the shop.

At the entrance, there was a row of burlap sacks filled with raw coffee beans.

When I opened the entrance door, delicious-looking cakes greeted us with a bang!

It's novel to have the names of the cakes written directly on the glass of the display case.

As you enter the shop, handmade bread is lined up in every available space right next to you.

We climbed the stairs to the second-floor seating area.

It's fun to see so many attractive and abundant products like cakes, bread, coffee beans, and tableware lined up!

The second floor of the barn. The hideaway feel is really nice.

There were so many items on the menu that I couldn't decide, but I chose these two.

Hamburger curry. Spicy curry and a fluffy, soft hamburger steak. Above all, the presence of the wooden dishware was incredible.
Roast pork cheese baguette. The roast pork was exceptionally delicious!

Of course, we also had dessert and coffee.
Farmer's blend coffee. It was a pleasant surprise that a little bit of handmade bread was served on the side.
For cakes, we had the orange cheesecake and the caramel nut tart.
The combination of orange and cheese was outstanding. The caramel nuts weren't sticky either, making them easy to eat.
The coffee was also rich, fragrant, and delicious.

Three charming points of kaneko coffee beans KCB Farmette that I want to incorporate into my (future) shop
1. Barn renovation
2. The joy of having the shop overflowing with products
3. Bread served with coffee

I have visited Furano several times a year.
I wish I had known about this place sooner!
They say there are even ponies on the farm in the summer.
It was a shop packed with charm that makes you want to visit again and again.

Thank you so much for always reading until the end.

Let's look forward to discovering new things together next time, too!
