88% of my life had already passed...
Before writing a note article, it has become a habit of mine to check the articles written by everyone else.
There was an article with a title that really caught my attention in the "For You Today" thread.
It was an article by Hoshinoman @ Hoshino Resorts titled "The Shocking Fact That 75% of My Life Has Already Passed."
At first glance, since it said 75% of life had passed, I thought Hoshinoman must be in his 60s, but to my surprise, he said he was only in his mid-20s!?
That is indeed shocking.
As for me, I am 49, almost 50, so I thought, "Wait! Could it be over 100%?" and tried calculating it on the following site.
For lifespan, I used the average life expectancy for Japanese men, which is 85 years old.
Calculating from the age of about 3, when one becomes aware of the world...

The percentage of my life passed was a staggering 88%!
What kind of calculation leads to something like this?
Looking at the calculation method on this site, it seems they use something called Janet's Law.
What on earth is Janet's Law? When I looked it up,
Janet's Law relates to the phenomenon where the perception of how fast time passes changes with age. Specifically, it refers to the psychological phenomenon where each year feels faster as you get older.
This law was devised by the 19th-century French philosopher Paul Janet.
For example, a year in childhood feels very long, but as an adult, that same year often feels like it passes in the blink of an eye. The law known as Janet's Law is used to explain this change in the perception of time.
I see.
The older you get, the faster time feels. I have more than enough personal experience to relate to that.
If that's the case, although I actually have about 35 years left in my life, in terms of subjective experience, it's only about 10 years, which is 12% of 85 years.
To fully enjoy the remaining subjective time, I must do what I want to do.
To end my life without any regrets, I must do what I love.
That means agriculture, jobs involved in food, and through this work, interacting with various people and bringing them joy.
I want to end my life like that.
Alright! I'm feeling more motivated than ever!!
In this article, I wrote about the shocking fact that when I calculated my remaining life, it turned out that 88% of my life had already passed, leaving only 12%.
That is precisely why I will do what I want to do. I will do what I love.
And I will bring joy to others.
That was the shocking fact that made me realize this.
I would be happy if this article could provide a boost to your life.
Thank you for reading until the end today as well!
