Following in My Older Brother's Footsteps

My youngest child is in their third year of junior high. By next spring, they will already be a high school student.
Now is the time to think seriously about their future path.
I was wondering where they would go, and it seems they want to follow the same path as their older brother.

Today, we went to the school information session for Mikasa High School.

Although it is a high school, Mikasa High School is a unique school specializing in cooking, where students can obtain a chef's license or a national qualification in confectionery.

After the general information session, we had a meal at "Magokoro Kitchen" inside the high school restaurant ESSOR, located right in front of the school, and brought home cakes and baked goods from "Cherie" as souvenirs.

Everything was thoroughly prepared, making the most of the quality of the ingredients, and it was a very elegant and delicious meal.

The souvenir sweets included a croissant, baked goods, and three types of fresh cakes.
We carefully brought them home in the cooler box we brought with us and ate them as a family.
I completely forgot to take pictures and we ate them all in the blink of an eye.

My eldest son graduated from the Mikasa High School culinary course two years ago and is currently training at a restaurant in Tokyo.

Perhaps influenced by his older brother, my youngest child has expressed the same career aspirations.
However, it seems they want to enter the confectionery course to pursue a path as a pastry chef.

Mikasa High School is far from home, so if they enroll, they will live in a dormitory.
For my eldest son, this dormitory life away from his parents became a very valuable experience that has shaped who he is today.

Knowing that, both we as parents and our youngest child are not very anxious about the enrollment and dormitory life, but are actually looking forward to it.

Facebook just reminded me of a photo from the school information session my eldest son attended five years ago.

Just as I did with my eldest son, I have been encouraging my youngest child, telling them that as a parent, I will fully support whatever path they choose.

They seem to have thought about various things, but in the end, I think they chose the option of Mikasa High School while envisioning their dream as a pastry chef.

Honestly, I think it will be a difficult path. But if it is a path they believe in, I am sure they will be able to do their best, and even if they change their mind and choose a different path along the way, such hesitation is not a problem at all in the grand scheme of a long life.

Both my eldest and youngest sons are heading into the world of food.
And I, too, am in the world of food as a farmer.
I have a new dream that it would be interesting if our paths crossed somewhere.
