Achieving a Beautiful and Healthy Body Through "Self-Compassion"
An Interview with Tomoko, the Flower-Blooming Beauty Consultant
“I’m worried about my skin and feel down in front of the mirror.”
“I don’t want to rely on medicine, but I don’t know what to do.”
Have you ever felt this way?
“Taking time to care for yourself will harmonize your mind and body.”
This is whatTomoko, the Flower-Blooming Beauty Consultant, says.

She says she cherishes the kimonos she inherited from her husband’s grandmother.
She has been involved in beauty and preventive medicine for 30 years.
Based on her own experience struggling with sensitive skin and atopic conditions, she shares the importance of daily skincare and preventive medicine.
Her goal isa society free from physical and mental illness, where everyone can utilize their talents and support one another.
From Tomoko’s story, hints for living a healthy, authentic lifewere found.
The moment an encounter with beauty changed her life
Thereason Tomoko became involved in beauty was that her husband started a business in beauty and preventive medicine.
Struggling with sensitive skin and frizzy hair, Tomoko decided to try it out starting with her hair, albeit with some skepticism.
“I was just at a time when I was trying out various shampoos and conditioners, so I thought, ‘Well, maybe I’ll try this next,’ with a light heart.”
Although she was hesitant about skincare for her face, she was impressed by the refreshing feeling on her scalp and how manageable her hair became after using the shampoo and conditioner.
“It was clearly different from what I had been using before, andI realized the importance of ingredients.”
After that, she began trying skincare products as well and felt her skin condition improving.
She says the effects of beauty were not just in her appearance, but also led to mental stability.
“When your body is in good condition, your mind also stabilizes.I can wake up feeling refreshed in the morning, and I feel like I recover faster even when I’m feeling down.”

The change in a friend who was indifferent to beauty
Having experienced the effects of skincare, Tomoko began to feel that she wanted to "know more" about beauty and preventive medicine.
“I like studying, so I often went to seminars. Before I knew it, various learnings had piled up.”
Encouraged by her husband saying, “If you share it, it can become a job too,” she began activities to share the knowledge she had gained.
“Rather than teaching, it’s more of a feeling of‘Hey, this was good.’Because it’s something I’ve experienced myself, I naturally want to share it with someone.”
One day, Tomoko went to a hot spring with close friends.
She says she was impressed by the time she had a friend who was indifferent to beauty use a facial device.
“Maybe I’ll try using this for a bit.”
Triggered by that unexpected remark, she started skincare and began going to personal training as well.
As a result, she successfully lost 20 kilograms.
“By feeling the changes through beauty, other positive influences are born.I felt like I was witnessing a turning point that changed her life.”

This is said to be the secret to her glowing skin✨
The power of preventive medicine that doesn’t rely on medicine
Tomoko realized the importance of preventive medicine through her involvement with a certain friend.
To a friend who had been diagnosed with uterine fibroids and advised to have surgery, Tomoko and her husband shared knowledge on improving lifestyle habits and balancing hormones.
“But she was still unmarried, so she consulted me, saying, ‘I don’t want to have surgery.’”
By continuing to review her supplements and diet, the fibroids gradually shrank, and a year later, they were a size that did not require surgery.
“While showing us the MRI images, she told us, ‘It’s become this small…’
She also said with a smile, ‘I’m really glad I did it,’ and I was almost in tears.
Remembering her feelings when she confided in me that she ‘wanted to heal without surgery,’I truly felt it was worth believing and working on it together.”
Just as we get antipyretics prescribed at the hospital when we have a fever, we tend to rely on medicine, but side effects are also a concern.
“Medicine is symptomatic treatment. Of course, there are times when it is necessary, butby adjusting from the root, the ‘power to heal’ exists within everyone.”
Tomoko’s words remind us of the life force within us.

A Recommendation for Self-Care
For Tomoko, daily self-care is also an essential time for "realigning" herself.
She explains that skincare, in particular, is "not just about beauty, but a habit of cherishing oneself."

After she started her care routine, she achieved skin that is more radiant than before, and her face line became more defined.
In her seminars, she says there are moments when participants are moved by experiencing her method of "applying lotion with care."
Tomoko describes skincare time as "a message of 'thank you' to myself." "While thoroughly applying lotion, it's a time to embrace myself, saying 'thank you for today.'
That becomes
an energy charge that raises my vibration and attracts wonderful encounters."
Taking time to care for yourself in the midst of a busy life is the key to balancing your mind and body.
Commitment to quality is an investment in cherishing yourself.
"While there are products you can easily buy at a drugstore, because it's something you use every day, I want you to choose things that feel comfortable and trustworthy to you."

At the cafe, participants are practicing with their own hands.

For a Future Where the Flower of Talent Blooms
Currently, Tomoko holds regular seminars and workshops, providing practical learning opportunities about beauty and preventive medicine.
She says that every time she witnesses the changes in the people she meets there, she strongly feels the "power of knowing."
"Teaching others is also a way of relearning things myself. I want to study more and share more myself."
Through her "Flower Blooming Sessions," Tomoko also provides support to bring out the strengths and potential of each individual.
"Everyone has some kind of strength. When you can find and utilize that, life becomes truly enjoyable."
What Tomoko desires is a way of engaging that stays close to the other person's life, sparked by beauty and preventive medicine.
"I want to engage in a way that discovers talents and improves their whole life, so I want to meet people who are happy to have me in their lives."

In this interview, we asked Tomoko, a Flower Blooming Beauty Consultant, about "beauty and preventive medicine."
For Tomoko, beauty and preventive medicine are also paths she has walked hand-in-hand with her husband.
"Meeting my husband changed my life significantly. My husband is my benefactor. That is precisely why I want to be a catalyst for changing someone else's life."
