478. Keeping the Fire of Passion Alive

There is a fire inside every person's heart.

Sometimes it is like a small lamp, sometimes a bonfire, or perhaps a campfire.

It is not necessarily better if the heat is intense, nor is it necessarily impressive if it is large.

It varies from person to person.
It also varies depending on the situation.

It takes only a moment for it to fade, but it takes time for it to grow strong and large.

It is not something that can be seen with the eyes.

However, it resides within everyone.

What is this "fire"?

Everyone is working hard at something, and it is the reason for that effort.

There are those working hard at their jobs, those working hard at their hobbies, and those working hard at living itself; while there are many varieties, as long as one is alive, one is working hard at something.

The fire that serves as the driving force for that resides deep within that person.

Something I realized recently.

There are people working hard together.
There are companions moving forward toward the same goal.

I see the fires of those people.
To keep adding firewood to each of their fires without letting them go out.
To keep the reason for their hard work burning. To keep making it grow larger.

This may be sudden, but isn't this what "people retention" in a community is all about?

There are several ways to make the "fire" grow larger.

First, the person themselves must keep adding firewood to their own fire.
It means obtaining an unwavering reason for existence, purpose, or goal for becoming better and richer as an individual.

Next, they must have firewood added by those around them.
Working hard with someone, having someone who serves as a pillar of support.
Establishing social connections centered around oneself.

And at the same time, by creating a foundation like a campfire, it will burn larger and more stably, so one must also build that foundation.
By engaging with a place for self-improvement, it becomes possible to burn larger and more stably.

On the other hand, it takes only a moment for it to go out.
The moment an event occurs that is like pouring water on a flame, the fire can be extinguished along with its embers.
When that happens, a fire of a different color appears, and they start walking down a path different from the one they were on before.

Rarely, there are strange people whose small flame remains or even grows larger, even when you try to douse it with water.

In any case, look at the fire within that person.
If you want to maintain a relationship for a long time, know the state of their fire.

The influence of those around them likely plays a part.
It might also depend on what they are doing.

But the most important thing is whether their fire continues to burn.

You can usually tell by observing them and talking to them for a little while.

The larger the fire becomes, the more possible it is to share it with those around you.

It might be arrogant, but I also hope to become such a presence for someone.

Ultimately, the spark only exists within that person.

However, it is possible to make it grow.

Within people, a fire is lit.

A fire of motivation.
A fire of passion.

I want to live a life where I share such hot and warm flames with many people.
