Poem: 'Selfishly'

I secretly rented a room

In the silence before dawn
White, rugged walls
Damp and faintly cool

You were surprised when you stepped onto the balcony
A voice spilling out between soft breaths
I felt like I had heard it from afar
I was happy that you left me be

This summer was terribly hot, wasn't it?
I, not being able to form my body well
It seems I didn't have the strength left to break out of my chrysalis
Even though even flowers are so brave
My abdomen is stained brown, turning black
Slowly withering away
Even so, I did try my best, just a little
Before you sweep me away with a broom, take a good look
The patterns on my wings, the size of my eyes, they are translucent
Just a little bit is fine

This summer was terribly hot
By tomorrow, held in the sunlight
With wings resembling petals, translucent
As if the edges are scattering stardust
Dreaming of such things, I fell asleep

Ah, tomorrow, I will surely be beautiful
