Polar Bear Tanka Winter 2023

I want to go see the polar bear on a Monday
Clicking to book my ticket for the trip home

I tried writing a tanka about a polar bear

What was the inspiration for that?

During my isolation period the doorbell rings
Peeking out the window I see a parade of Santas

My daughter, who had been living in self-isolation after developing a fever on December 22nd, was visited by many Santas!
They came!

Her homeroom teacher brought her report card and winter break homework,
and the certificate for placing 3rd in the endurance race,
while her classmates brought her disaster prevention hood and indoor shoes.

Her grandmother and aunt (my younger sister) who had returned home brought Christmas presents 🎁,
along with a Christmas feast and cake 🎂,

and friends who had promised to exchange Christmas gifts also came to deliver them.

And my friend even brought her an early New Year's gift!

My daughter, whose fever went down in one day, showed everyone her smile from the window and waved.

Christmas joy and quietude living together
Deeply happy, each in their own way

I am currently a resident of Tsuru-san's Tanka Apartment, Utada-so.

This is a tanka that was praised in Tsuru-san's project, 'I will praise your tanka'.
I thought about revising it, but I will submit it to the Polar Bear Cup as is, without making any clumsy changes.

The quarterly haiku tournament for everyone.
