Mamesuke-sensei went to the first shrine visit of the year on his own on New Year's morning. The New Year's Day escape incident
Hello everyone. It's Obaba.
Today is a story about my second son's dog,
Mamesuke-sensei.
This dog
is a Shiba Inu with a pedigree as a natural monument.
His real name is
Nio no Shodai-go
which is a
very magnificent name.
However, in our house,
・Pechi
・Yanko
・Takopechi
・Pechakori
・Yankotama
・Ossan (Old man)
・Oresama (His Majesty)
・Dorobo-san (Mr. Thief)
and so on,
he has so many nicknames that
no one uses his real name.
He looks top-notch.
A red Shiba with a fox face.
His curled tail is also magnificent.
When I take him for walks, people often say,
"What a wonderful Shiba."
"What a beautiful Shiba."
But Obaba always thought,
but this dog is actually quite silly.
Even though he went to a dog school boarding camp for two weeks when he was a puppy,
he can't even do 'shake' or 'sit'.
He's quite a character.
That was Mamesuke-sensei.
Moreover, even though he is supposed to be an outdoor dog,
although he is tied up in the garden with a veeeeeery long rope,
while still tied to the outdoor rope,
is he an indoor dog who lives freely inside the house?
It was one New Year's morning.
My sons came home for the holidays,
and the whole family was gathered.
Since the weather was nice,
we let him sunbathe in the garden.
An hour later.
When I looked at the garden,
the rope was torn.
And
Mamesuke-sensei was gone.
That guy is a loose cannon.
He won't come back.
The whole family was in a panic.
My husband,
eldest son,
second son,
and I (the old lady)
each
• by bicycle
• on foot
• by car
started searching.
After quite a long search,
from far away,
trotting along,
there was a dog walking toward us.
It was Professor Mamesuke.
And what's more,
dragging a string about a meter long.
His face said it all:
"Huh? What's wrong with everyone? What are you doing so early in the morning? The first shrine visit was actually quite crowded."
The only saving grace was that there were few cars out early on New Year's morning.
Now,
it's completely
a funny story.
The anecdotes about Professor Mamesuke are endless.
I can't write them all down, so I'll share them little by little another time...
