I made a friend to talk about manga with💛 Here are my 10 favorite manga. Manga ①
A woman I recently connected with through work is so knowledgeable about manga that
I'm so happy I can't help but write an article about it. Tee-hee~♪
Because, in real life, there is no one around me who can talk about manga.
Even people who say they like manga, when I talk to them,
it's quite different from what I like...
I want to talk about it on a much, much deeper level, but
they're at the level of 'I used to read it back in the day, sort of,'
and have zero geekiness.
So I've been hiding my obsessive nature while talking.
I've been enjoying manga all by myself...
(What's with all the 'desu yo's, you ask?)
During my childhood... from the Showa to the Heisei era,
my whole family loved manga.
Since I had two older brothers,
I read Sunday, Magazine, Jump, Big Comic, Afternoon, etc...
I read everything from boys' magazines to young adult magazines, and sometimes even erotic four-panel gag magazines.
From weekly magazines to monthly magazines. Sometimes I even collected the volumes.
My father loved Touch and bought the whole series for us.
I'm grateful to my brothers and father for that much at least (lol).
I was in charge of girls' magazines and bought Ribon and Bouquet.
I bought everything other than Shueisha titles as collected volumes.
My mother would often buy tons of girls' comics from used bookstores for me.
She was in charge of the long series, like Glass Mask and Orpheus no Mado...
With that kind of teamwork (that was the only thing we had good teamwork on),
I spent my girlhood with manga always around me without ever questioning it, but
when I became an adult and started working, I was shocked
to find that there was absolutely no one like that around me.
(Up until my student days, there were many people who liked manga)
It wasn't something that could be taken for granted...
It was such a luxurious environment...
I was grateful for an environment where my parents would buy manga for us.
(Even my husband doesn't read that much, and he's put off when he finds out I still read online.)
And then!!!
Someone who loves manga far more than I do appeared in my life.
I've been taught so many things!!!! About the latest manga information!!!
And now, we're introducing each other to recommended manga!!! (Pure bliss...)
She even draws manga herself...!!!
I have nothing but respect for her.
She makes doujinshi!!!
I might be able to make my debut in the doujinshi scene this summer (she invited me).
No, I'm not drawing, but I'll be attending a sales event,
and I'm just so happy~~~~ (((o(*゚▽゚*)o)))
My very first dream was to be a manga artist, so...
I thought I'd like to draw manga again.
(Although when I was a child, I never managed to finish anything I drew _| ̄|○)
The thing I respect most about her is that she finishes her work!!!!
It's wonderful. The introduction, development, twist, and conclusion. Plotting out a multi-page story, drawing it,
drawing it all the way to the end. Making it into a book. It's amazing...
I couldn't do that.
I'd work hard on the beginning, but I could never finish it.
Whether they are professional, amateur, or hobbyist,
I truly respect those who finish their work to the end.
Every manga artist is wonderful.
So, as I mentioned earlier,
we've been doing this super fun thing where we recommend manga to each other,
(borrowing and lending physical books)
but physical books are bulky, aren't they?
Since I've lived a life of moving house ever since I became an adult,
I've gotten rid of physical books, DVDs, CDs, and records that take up space...
I regret getting rid of many of them.
Some of them are now collector's items, or have even been discontinued entirely (´;ω;`)ウゥゥ
The ones remaining in my home are the survivors
that made it through those repeated purges!!! I recommend them with confidence (`・ω・´)b
The one I pulled off my bookshelf this time is
DAY DREAM BELIEVER again by Satoshi Fukushima!!!

It's a story about one woman and two men who possess psychic powers.
Since the dawn of time, the mark of psychic power has existed in humans.
A power granted only to the chosen few.
The woman's power is to induce nightmares, but in the end,
the nightmares end up swallowing people whole.
The story feels like a dream from the middle onwards,
it's not clear-cut, but that's what's good about it.
Perhaps this world is just a continuing nightmare.
It's a setting I see occasionally,
but in this manga, it's depicted in a way that is truly unsettling and eerie.
And above all, the art style!!!
The drawing ability is overwhelming.
I find myself glued to every single expression, and the sense of style is great.
It has a mysterious sense of fashion.
The casually drawn New Balance sneakers,
imported cars, and shirt dresses are all wonderful.
Anyway, here are my top 10 favorite manga that I posted on X before. Fukushima-sensei's isn't in there, though lol
These are the works I agonized over and finally narrowed down.
