Let's Write an Ending Note #372
End-of-life planning
The term "end-of-life planning" is becoming more common.
It is spreading as an activity to prepare for how to conclude one's life, but
it is also said that many people avoid it, saying it is "too early for me" or "it's bad luck."
Instead of thinking of "end-of-life planning" based on the premise of your own death, why not think of it as a guide for how to spend your time in your own way until you die, a roadmap for yourself, and for your family and acquaintances?
Ending Note
My mother is still healthy, but I want to hear not only about how she wants to spend her time from now on, but also about the life she has lived, things she wants to do, places she wants to go, and many other stories, so I am thinking of writing an "ending note" together with her.
In other words, I want to have my mother write one, and at the same time, I want to write an "ending note" myself.
Starting Note
I also think the term "ending note" is not ideal, and since it is positioned as thinking about your future, I am considering calling it a "starting note" to mean a notebook for beginnings.
In that sense, I think it can also be a trigger for young people to think about what kind of life they want to lead, things they want to do, places they want to go, and things they want to have.
End-of-life planning advisor
I was thinking of writing an "ending note", and although there were ways to write one on the internet, I also wanted to know about "end-of-life planning" as a whole, so I took a correspondence course and obtained the qualification of "end-of-life planning advisor".
Including how to write an "ending note", I learned a lot about everything from organizing one's affairs before death to inheritance, funerals, and how to leave behind digital assets.
There are commercially available "ending notes", but you can also add to a regular notebook or write the necessary content on loose-leaf paper and file it, so I recommend starting casually.
It is not something you write once and finish; it is also important to look back and update it during the New Year holidays or on your birthday. After all, your thoughts and things you want to do change constantly.
Why don't you also start preparing to make your life fulfilling, and to depart while thanking those around you for a "good life"?
