Even More Shocking! How I Increased My Note Followers by 36x in 8 Days

Note Follower Progress Report

It has been a week since my last post, and time has flown by.

As for the number of followers, thanks to you all, it has been growing steadily.

8 days ago: 12 → 7 days ago: 127 → Today: 439, an increase of over 36 times.
To everyone who has followed me, thank you so much!
I think I've reached the Saibaman level of Note combat power.

Observations and Insights

Comparing this to about a week ago,
views and likes have increased by about 3 times in proportion to the number of followers.
Follower count (127 → 439) 3.46x
View count (605 views → 1,973 views) 3.26x
Like count (201 likes → 595 likes) 2.96x

Interestingly, when analyzing the probability of likes per article,
there were significant differences depending on the article.

Roughly speaking,
With illustration (elaborate article) + Niche target → Like rate 72%
With illustration (elaborate article) + General type → Like rate 32%
No illustration (less differentiation) + Niche target → Like rate 25%
No illustration (less differentiation) + General type → Like rate around 15%

Also, in my case, promoting on SNS → View count 2x
Articles with over 10,000 characters
→ Tended to have high views but low likes.
Since you can only give one like per article, if you want to increase the number of likes, it might be more effective to split long articles (those over 10,000 characters) into 2 or 3 parts to earn more likes.

The data made me realize once again that viewers aren't just randomly clicking the like button after looking at the header image; there is evidence that many people are actually reading the content before liking.

I also confirmed again that while targeting a specific audience reduces the number of views, it tends to result in more likes.

Things I did to increase followers

Now, for the follower-increasing method you're curious about,

I only did the following four things.

1. Registered for 3 additional newsletters and posted 2-3 articles per day
→ In my case, I worked hard to write and post new articles. If you have a stock of articles, you could also repost past articles to newsletters. Since about half of the people who follow me seem to do so after reading an article and liking it, taking some kind of action andconsistencyis the most important thing.

2. Browsing articles of people who follow back and following them
→This has a certain effect, but be careful: even if people have 'Follow back 100%' in their name or profile, they might not be active users, so Ifelt that only about 1/3actually followed back. There are cases where you hit a limit and can't follow, so it's best to follow and wait patiently.

3. Added the balloon emoji and 'Follow back 100%' to my name as part of Hina-hime's membership benefits, and engaged in follow-back activities
→ People followed me quite a while after I posted my articles,
and since I have a high follow-back rate, I am truly grateful.

4. Browsing and following people who follow back on X and Threads as well
→ Until now, I had just created SNS accounts and felt satisfied, so I didn't use them at all, and my SNS followers were always in the single digits.
I engaged in follow-back activities and finally increased my X and Threads followers to about 100, but that's still low, and only about 10 people have come to Note through those channels.

Regarding following back, my Instagram followers, where I haven't done anything, are still at 25, so the follow-back effect can be expected to have a certain impact if applied to other community tools. The fact that I have over 4 times as many Note followers is thanks to becoming a member of Hina-hime's group and increasing my exposure.

Since anyone can do steps 1-4 if they want to, if you are serious about increasing your Note followers and haven't tried these, you might want to give them a shot.

I would like to report my progress again in about a month, or perhaps once I reach 1,000 followers.
