I want to write things that make people grin | "Why do you write?" | Happy Writing Marathon #1

Finding the place you are aiming for might only happen after you have continued for a while.

The place you aim for also changes depending on the people you meet.

"Why do you write?"

If I were asked that, I think my feelings when I first started writing were like this.
I was somewhat interested, and I wanted to put my feelings into writing. I hoped that, if I was lucky, it might make some money. And above all, I wanted to fix my bad parts even a little bit to make life easier to live. That was the thought with which I started writing.

[Beginner's Mind]

Writing was less about expression and more a means to face myself.

I would organize the things swirling around in my head, bring them out, and try lining them up in words.

Why is it so painful?
Why do I think this way?
Why am I troubled by the same things?
Why do I get exhausted by human relationships?
Why am I in such a good mood today?

I have written about such things over and over again.
I thought I was just writing things out simply, but in reality, I might have been continuously asking myself questions the whole time.

And strangely, although I thought I would find answers the more I wrote, what I found were new questions rather than answers.

"What does this mean?"
"Could it be that?"
"Isn't it strange if I use Momotaro as an example?"

In that way, I started to enjoy finding the discomforts and discoveries that roll around in everyday life.

Before I knew it, the reason I write became both a form of mental therapy and simply because it is fun. Of course, even now, I write to face myself.
I have moments of hesitation, and I have moments of feeling down. There are times when I am sad or frustrated.

It is still painful, but it is no longer the "I'll go crazy if I don't write" feeling of the past.

I write purely because the writing overflows. I write because I want to make people laugh. I write because I notice various things. I write because it makes me happy to know that people feel a little more at ease.

In that way, it has now changed to "I write because I want to write." This is the big difference.

The past me was looking for answers, but now I enjoy finding questions.

I used to want to change myself,
but now I find it interesting to observe myself and the creature known as a human being.

It used to be for my own sake,
but now it is for my own sake and also for someone else's.

When I write articles, I sometimes receive comments. Every time I receive one, I think that humans actually stumble in similar places.
I realized that the things I was worried about were not just my own worries.

That is why, lately, I do not think about saving people.
I do not think I can save them either. I just think, if someone happens to be saved, lucky me!!

I am just laying out on the table the things I have found.

"This information is good."
"This realization is useful."
"I thought about this."
"Isn't this interesting?"
"I felt this discomfort."

I am offering them with that kind of feeling.

I would be happy if someone saw that and laughed, thought about it, or relaxed their shoulders just a little bit.

Writing might rarely change a life dramatically. People say writing changes lives, but I don't think it's that easy. I write because nothing changes if you just watch. I'm just hoping that something might hit the mark.

However,
there are times when your perspective widens just a little bit.
there are times when breathing becomes just a little bit easier.
there are times when you can take just a little bit of a good break.
there are times when your expression becomes just a little bit softer.
there are times when you stop blaming yourself just a little bit.
there are times when it becomes a hint to keep going just a little bit longer.

If my writing can be that kind of existence for someone, there is nothing that would make me happier.

At first, I wrote to save myself,
but before I knew it, the act of writing itself became fun.

And if someone feels a little more at ease because of that writing, that makes me very happy.

That is why I will write again today.

Not to provide answers, but to notice things.
Not to change someone, but to laugh together.

So much fun.

Thank you for reading again today.

Well then, see you in the next article.
Have a wonderful day.
