Trying out a combination of a 100-yen setting, full free access, and a 'click to support' option!
“This article looks interesting, but... I’m hesitant to buy it because I can’t read a sample!”
Have you ever thought this way when reading articles on note? I felt the same way before I started writing articles on note myself. Especially with articles by creators I’m encountering for the first time, I tend to hesitate a bit, wondering, “Can I trust this?” or “Is this right for me?”
That’s why I started this style: “100 yen, but fully free to read + click to support.”
“100 yen, but fully free to read” means that I’ve made the article available to read for free until the very end. Even if you are reading my article for the first time, you can check the content with peace of mind.
I’ll use a bit of realistic language here.
“Click to support” is a system where you can pay 100 yen to show your support if you read the article and think, “That was interesting!” or “That was helpful!” Of course, the support (yen) is not mandatory. Please enjoy it for free.
For example, have you read my first article, “Whoa, I don’t want to get involved with this person! What if your intuition pings? A battle story of K-Dramas x Anime!”?
Right after it was published, two people bought it for 100 yen, one person supported me with a tip, and I even got a comment saying, “Tako-san, that’s so relatable!” (I’m exaggerating. Sorry. Tako-san is my current obsession).
Thank you so much for using your precious time to read it and even leaving a comment. I was so happy my hands were shaking from the morning!
The reason I came up with this stance is
・When viewed on the app, there is no 'send a tip' section.
・When viewed from a browser, the 'send a tip' section exists.
So, I thought, why not try writing it this way? I’m doing this as an experiment.
Why did I choose this style?
・I want to be kind to my readers
・Since it’s free to read, I want you to enjoy it freely!
・You can read the whole thing instead of just a sample!
That is the thought behind it.
Also, there is no 'send a tip' display on the app. I created a mechanism so that even those who want to support me can do so!
This way, I hope even first-time readers can feel at ease getting to know “What kind of person is YOR?”
The paid section is to protect 'peace of mind' and 'exclusivity'!
“Wait, but what is the paid section?” you might wonder. Actually, I sometimes set up a paid section in my articles.
There are two reasons!
① To avoid discomfort
For example, when I talk about real-life episodes with complete honesty, there is a possibility that words that might cause discomfort in a public space could come out. I hide those parts in the paid section so that I can choose the audience. It’s so that everyone can read comfortably!
② To protect special information
I share things like the spreadsheet code I use or highly unique ideas in the paid section.
Of course, I will deliver plenty of fun in the free section so that you can enjoy it even without the paid part!
I want you to trust YOR! How the support will be used is...
(It's hard to believe even for me to say it <(_ _)>)
You might wonder, "Can I trust YOR?" but I want to be sincere with my readers.
The 100-yen articles you support and the tips will be used as energy for writing the next article.
For example, the 100 yen you support will be used for viewing fees for new K-dramas and anime!
By doing so, I will do my best to write even more interesting articles.
When I received a comment on my first article, I was so happy and thought, "I want to write more!" and everyone who supports me fully charges my "Intuition Beep!" sensor. Give me your energy! (Just kidding)
Thank you so much for the energy, courage, and fun ❣
If you think this method of combining free articles with a tip-based/paid article system is good, please try it out.
I'd love to know your results too~ ♬♪
