Doing something for someone
Anything will do.
Driving slowly so that pedestrians don't get splashed while you're behind the wheel.
Pressing the elevator open or close button for someone else.
Buying a drink your family member likes on your way home for them.
Listening patiently if someone is troubled.
Sharing fun things or time together.
Honestly doing what the other person wants you to do for them.
If the number of people who want to do something for someone else increases,
what a wonderful world that would be.
Is that just an idealistic theory?
There are people who act for others in a condescending way.
There are also people who say it's for your sake, but in the end, it's for their own sake.
It's easy to say in words, but it's different from putting it into action.
When you are able to take action, you feel very refreshed, and there are times when you feel glad you did it.
Sometimes you get a reaction different from what you expected.
Sometimes you are looked at with suspicion.
Even so, the fact that you did something for someone remains unchanged.
It is said that this is also a very good thing in Buddhism.
You who are reading this now.
Just one thing is enough.
Why don't you try doing something for someone?
