The Day I Kept My Promise, More Than the Result
I think I will post on note again today.
Actually, today,
I managed to finish the book proposal
to submit to the Kizuna Publishing Contest.
It is snowing outside.
Honestly, I felt a little scared to go out.
I once fell on a frozen road on a snowy day
and broke my right wrist.
So today, I chose not to push myself and stayed home.
The deadline is noon on February 10th.
I had planned to finish it tomorrow (February 9th),
but I have work,
and as a result of facing it by thinking, "Let's do as much as I can today,"
I managed to get it into shape.
I have experience in nursing care,
and I am also a cancer survivor.
At one point,
someone said to me,
"I want you to put that experience into words and share it."
There are more people around me who are suffering and struggling with cancer,
and they wanted me to deliver words that would reach them.
At that time,
I answered, "I understand."
That was a promise to someone else, and at the same time,
a promise to myself.
So,
even though I don't know what the result will be,
this time I decided to "take on the challenge."
Looking back,
at the "Lavender Ring (Photo & Interview by Cancer Patients)" event
I participated in five years ago,
the keyword I chose back then was
"Challenge".

I feel like the me from back then
and the me of today
have quietly connected.
Today,
more than the result,
the fact that I "kept my promise to myself"
is what makes me happiest of all.
A promise
might be for someone else,
and at the same time, it might be a way to not betray yourself.
