“Saving money” was my most expensive purchase.
Over the past year, I have met many business owners and entrepreneurs, and I have felt this many times.
The more successful a person is, the more clearly they distinguish between what they do themselves and what they delegate to others.

But in the past, I was the exact opposite.
“I don’t have money, so I’ll do it myself.”
I thought that was just common sense.
Actually, I was quite the penny-pincher.
I would head to the supermarket at the time when they put discount stickers on items in the evening.
I even thought buying jelly was a “waste,”
so I would buy gelatin and orange juice and make a huge amount myself (laughs).
Thanks to that, I have the fond memory of becoming good at making sweets.
But...
In entrepreneurship, that mindset was stopping my growth.
Even after starting my business, things didn’t really take off,
“I must not be extravagant”
became even stronger.

So,
“Asking someone else costs money.”
“If I do it myself, it’s free.”
That’s what I thought, so I took everything on by myself.
For example, let’s say you want to create an LP (landing page).
First…
✅ Research how to make it
✅ Sign up for a platform
✅ Struggle because I don’t know how to use it
✅ Think about the copy
✅ Rewrite it over and over again
✅ Add photos and images
✅ Create an application form
✅ Check if it works
Finally, it’s done…
Before I knew it, it had been one month.
My brain was fried.
It wasn’t my strength, so it didn’t progress at all.
I felt frustrated.
I was exhausted.
What if I had paid someone who was good at this 50,000 yen to do it for me during that month?
In that time, I could have:
・Met with clients
- Sell products
- Host seminars
- Learn
You could have done things like that.
I think you could have easily generated over 50,000 yen.
And if you sold a 300,000 or 500,000 yen product
using a landing page created by a professional...
That 50,000 yen might not have been an “expense,”
but an investment in the future.

Of course, there is no guarantee it will sell.
But it is more likely to lead to results than struggling on your own for weeks.
And the biggest thing was the change in my mindset.
Because I don't do things I'm bad at,
I don't get frustrated.
Because I have peace of mind,
I can be kinder to my family.
Because I can focus only on what I'm good at,
work is fun.
For someone who is excited,
Strangely, people gather around me.
For a long time,
“I am saving money.”
That is what I thought.
But, in reality, it was different.
What I was losing was,
・Time
・Opportunities
・Time with my family
・Memories with my children
・And, my own peace of mind
that was what it was.
If only I had learned to rely on others sooner...
My sales might have grown much faster.
I might have been able to create more time to laugh with my children.
There are times when I think that.
Things are different now.
Thankfully, I have many colleagues I can rely on.
For business matters, there is Cocco-chan, a business partner at Life Style Academy.

For video production, there is Nabe-san, an operations member of the UBM Chiba branch.

I have reliable professionals in various fields around me.
This time, I am taking on the challenge of the Beauty Japan VERUS Area Competition.

When I needed a 5-minute presentation video,
the old me
would have thought, “I’ll make it myself.”
I think that’s what I would have thought.
In fact, I thought that for a split second.
But I immediately reconsidered.
The current me
has a business.
I also want to cherish the time with my five children.
And above all,
I want to spend my time practicing my speech.
That was when the thought came to mind:
Nabe-san.
“I’ll ask him.”
I decided that.
Seeing the completed video,
I thought so once again.
Professionals are truly amazing.
If I had made it myself,
it would have taken many times longer,
the quality wouldn't have been what I wanted,
and I wouldn't have had any peace of mind.
Because of that, right now,
I am able to focus on practicing my presentation.
Nabe-san, thank you so much.
Thanks to you, I can challenge myself with full confidence at the Beauty Japan VERUS Area Competition.
I am truly grateful from the bottom of my heart.
There is something that successful people have been saying all along.
“Let go of the things you aren't good at.”
I knew those words.
But I wasn't doing it.
Even though I knew,
I was being stingy.
“If I do it myself, it won't cost any money.”
That's what I thought.
But what was really costing me dearly,
was not money.
It was time.
It was opportunities.
It was precious time with my family.
And, it was my own future.
Relying on others is not a sign of weakness.
It is an important choice to focus on what only you can do.
If you are currently thinking,
"I have to do everything myself."
If you are thinking that, please take a moment to consider.
What is it that only you can do?
In order to increase that time,
is there anything you can ask someone else to do?
That one step might change your future significantly.
I wish I had realized this sooner.
That is why I want to tell anyone who is working hard right now.
"Saving money" can sometimes be the most expensive purchase.
For the sake of your future,
why not find the courage to make the choice to "ask for help"?
