🔥DAY 8 The First Moment I Thought 'I Want to Make People's Lives Interesting'
For those meeting me for the first time, hello.
I am Yujiro Adachi, also known as Hapi-niisan, a person who makes people's lives interesting.
■ When I was a child, I had a 'habit'.
Since I was in elementary school, if a friend was in trouble, I couldn't help but get involved.
'What's wrong?' 'Why do you think that?'
Before I knew it, I had delved deep into the heart of that child's worries.
Thinking back on it now, that was like the 'origin of my occupational disease'.
However, the reason wasn't because I was 'kind'.
It goes much deeper than that.
■ The atmosphere at home was always 'shaky'
My house looked normal from the outside, but
inside the house, things were always a little tense.
Both my father and mother had their own burdens.
As a child, I was the type who would sense that.
When my family fought, my chest would ache deeply.
'What can I do to put them in a better mood?'
'What can I say to change the atmosphere?'
Before I knew it, I had started living while observing 'adult emotions'.
The 'skill of reading the room' I acquired as a child.
But this is what determined the direction of my life.
■ I felt 'my own life wasn't interesting'
To be honest, as a child, I
'Life is tough, isn't it?'
'Why is everyone living with such a calm face?'
That's how I used to think.
Influenced by the atmosphere at home,
if my family was having a hard time, I was having a hard time too.
That's why I desperately tried to make them laugh.
The reason I liked making my siblings and friends laugh was
also 'to protect myself'.
When people laughed, my heart felt lighter.
■ My foundational experience was 'just one friend'
When I was in the 5th grade, there was a boy in my class
who was always looking down.
He was an outcast from the group,
and he hardly ever spoke during class.
During one break, that child was crying.
The reason was that no one paid any attention to him.
Before I knew it, I was sitting next to him, listening.
"Why are you crying?"
"Because nobody needs me..."
In that moment,
I felt a sharp pang deep in my chest.
"Oh, I know this feeling."
The pain of not being needed.
The feeling of enduring loneliness.
The wish for someone to notice you.
I spoke to him.
"I need you."
"Just the fact that you're here today makes me happy."
The boy kept his head down and gave a small smile.
The moment I saw that smile,
something was decided within me.
■ "I want to make people's lives interesting"
It wasn't out of "kindness,"
but because I "knew the pain."
When people laugh, my own heart feels lighter.
When someone looks forward, the world becomes brighter.
When one person changes, their family changes too.
Ever since that day,
I have lived wanting to be "someone who finds the light in people's lives."
The origin of it all
lies in the pain of my childhood
and that boy's small smile.
■ Looking back as an adult, everything connects in a line
・Being sensitive to the atmosphere
・Being swayed by my family's emotions
・Being too aware of other people's pain
・My heart often getting lost
Everything is directly linked to my "work" now.
That is why I want to say this.
■ Your original experiences are not "flaws" either.
They are your future "talents."
In life, the parts that cause pain are actually the 'roots of your talent'.
The events that hurt you,
the memories that were painful,
the frustration you felt back then.
All of that
will become the 'power' to save someone in the future.
Just as it was for me.
■ Just one last thing
Please try to carefully recall
the 'story' within your own life.
In it,
everything about who you truly are
and what you have valued while living
is written down.
And that very story
will become the 'key' to making your life interesting.
Next time,
I will talk about the 'true nature of strength and weakness'
that I acquired during my childhood.
