⚠️この記事は2023年のリライト版です。The other day, the textbooks and other materials for the Cosmetic Writer Training Course arrived!
According to the shipping notification email I received from the Japan Cosmetic Licensing Association beforehand, there is a [pre-assignment], and if you do not submit this pre-assignment, even if you take the basic course and the exam, you will be marked as failed!
The estimated time for the pre-assignment is 2-3 hours, and it seems there is no pass/fail for the assignment itself.
So, what exactly is the pre-assignment?
I would like to share my experience!
Preparation before starting the "Cosmetic Writer Training Course" pre-assignment!

Let's start here.
Let's get your environment ready for a moment.
A computer is required for the Cosmetic Writer course(if you have already registered your computer email address on the Japan Cosmetic Licensing Association's My Page, there is no problem), so make sure you can check your email on your computer.
If necessary, log in to the Japan Cosmetic Licensing Association's My Page and change your registered email address.
That's all the preparation you need.
@outlook addresses might be filtered into junk mail by Outlook, so it is safer to register a different address if possible!
How to start the "Cosmetic Writer Training Course" pre-assignment!

To start the pre-assignment, click the start button included in the shipping notification email.
You will be asked to enter your registered email address for identity verification, so enter the address you registered on your My Page.
⚠️ This is the address where the submission confirmation email will be sent after you submit the pre-assignment.
It is convenient to be able to check all emails related to the Cosmetic Writer Training Course on your computer.
I hadn't prepared in advance, so this shipping notification email arrived on my smartphone, and it was a bit of a hassle to forward it to my computer to start the pre-assignment.
Time required for the "Cosmetic Writer Training Course" pre-assignment!

The estimated time for this pre-assignment was listed as 2-3 hours, but it actually only took about 1 hour to complete.
However, once you start, you cannot save your progress, and if 3 hours pass, you will be logged out and there is a risk that your data will be lost.
Also, you can only submit it once.
Therefore, to ensure you don't have to stop halfway, make sure to take your time and set aside about 3 hours to work on it just in case.
What is the content of the Cosmetic Writer Training Course pre-assignment like?

Broadly speaking, there was a section like a review of modern Japanese language and a section like a review of the Cosmetic Licensing Exam Grade 2.
There were questions where you had to select the correct sentence from multiple examples, or rewrite sentences to make them easier to read using punctuation, followed by questions that were like a review of the Cosmetic Licensing Exam Grade 2 scope (multiple choice only).
It was a convincing set of content, fitting for a pre-assignment for a Cosmetic Writer Training Course.
If anything, the Cosmetic Licensing Exam Grade 2 review was easier, and the modern Japanese language section felt more difficult.
Even though I had just taken the Japanese Language Proficiency Test a year ago... haha
Summary of the Cosmetic Writer Training Course pre-assignment
☑︎ A computer is required for the Cosmetic Writer Training Course.
☑︎ It is smoother to be able to check emails from the Japan Cosmetic Licensing Association on your computer.
☑︎ The required time is about 1-3 hours. Saving progress is not possible.
☑︎ You can only submit the assignment once.
☑︎ There is no pass/fail for the assignment.
Once you submit the pre-assignment, you will receive a confirmation email immediately.
The email contains a copy of your submission and a link to the answer page, so I highly recommend reviewing it!
It should be a good opportunity to know your own abilities♪
As for me, I got all the multiple-choice questions right, but I didn't fully understand the questions about rewriting in the modern Japanese section, so I was terrible. Haha
(I wish they had shown me the example answers...🤔)
That's all, thank you for reading until the end💐
