Like Background Music - A Poem

I chose a cloudy day
because I didn't want to look up at the sky

The cafe on the main street
that I'm visiting for the first time
I chose this place
because I'm sure it will be a time
that won't become a memory

Counter seat, a little distance apart
Watching you reflected in the window is all I can manage
The cold coffee I haven't touched
And a second glass of water

A withered flower will never return

Just as the background music changes
My love gets up from its seat

This is a poem created from the comments section of a poem.😊
As I was writing it, thinking I would turn the comments into a poem, it started to sound like lyrics, so I was scrambling by myself, swapping the endings of words to turn it back into a poem. lol
