Sweaty season: Are there days when your 'usual care' doesn't work?
🫧 Even though you take good care of your skin,
don't you have days when it feels prone to breakouts?
In the sweaty season,
it's not just about the stickiness on the skin's surface,
but your pores and 'skin flora balance' also become prone to instability 🌿
⠀
📖 Today's skin log (May 20th)
☀️ High temperature
💧 High humidity
🌿 A day when sweat and sebum increase easily
On days like this,
your 'usual routine' might not work for you 🫧
💆♀️ Real talk for today
Recently at the salon,
“I suddenly have more bumps”
“It feels sticky but dry”
“I have some redness for no reason”
We are hearing more comments like these.
🫧 The cause
In summer, as sweat and sebum increase,
old dead skin cells and dirt easily accumulate in the pores.
When this is combined with an environment where 'acne bacteria' thrive,
it can lead to redness and acne.

But actually,
your skin has“skin-beautifying bacteria”known as resident florathat eat and break down sweat and sebum into a 'natural cream'.
While keeping the skin weakly acidic,
they also work to protect the barrier function🌿
That is why,
if you wash too much or use harsh care,
you might disrupt the necessary bacterial balance,
which can actually make your skin more prone to instability.

Let's cultivate a well-balanced skin environment through daily skincare and lifestyle habits.
🌿 What to do on days like this?
・Don't scrub sweat away; gently pat it off
・Don't over-wash
・Be mindful of the balance between 'moisture and oil' when moisturizing
・Take a break from new skincare products
Furthermore...
☀️ Before touching up your makeup,
gently wipe off sweat with a tissue
Makeup and sunscreen mixed with sweat
can lead to clogged pores 🌿
😷 Be careful of stuffiness from wearing a mask for long periods
The inside of a mask easily becomes hot and humid,
making it prone to stuffiness from sweat and sebum.
On days like this,
try to focus on 'protective care' rather than 'aggressive care' 🫧
🫧 Sakurako's Tips
Sticky skin
doesn't always mean it's moisturized.
In summer,
even if the surface of your skin feels moist from sweat,
the inside can be dry— inner dryness— a state that can occur.
That is why
you should be mindful of
'not cleansing too much'
and 'maintaining while protecting' your skin care routine 🌿
🌿 Sakurako's Detour
On days when you are concerned about clogged pores,
incorporating 'gentle clay care'
is also a great idea.
I also highly recommend the very gentle note by Maeshima-san,
a clay therapy instructor from whom I am always learning.
☀️ Today's Charge

Sunscreen with high SPF and PA values is highly effective at blocking UV rays, but it can also be a burden on the skin.
Products containing 'UV absorbers' in particular can be irritating to sensitive skin because they trigger chemical reactions.
👉 When it comes to sunscreen,
it's more important to consider
'whether it suits your skin today'
than its 'strength' 🫧 The key is choosing the right balance of 'SPF' and 'PA' 🫧
☀️ SPF
→ Protection against UVB, which causes redness and inflammation
🌿 PA
→ Protection against UVA, which leads to wrinkles and sagging
That is why:
・Indoors
→ SPF10–20 / PA+ to ++
・Daily outings and commuting
→ SPF20–40 / PA++ to +++
・Long hours outdoors or leisure activities
→ SPF50+ / PA+++ to ++++
Like this,
it's not about 'stronger is better,'
but rather choosing products that match your skin and the environment that day🌿
On days when sweat makes things wear off easily,
don't forget to reapply frequently🫧
Hats👒, parasols⛱️, and sunglasses🕶️
are also gentle allies for delicate skin🌿
🌿 A quick note
There is a reason
why your skin feels a bit unstable.
💡 During seasons when sweat and sebum increase,
'not over-cleansing' is also important
If you wash too vigorously because of stickiness,
you might even reduce the beneficial bacteria that protect your skin🫧
Please try to be mindful of
gentle care that matches your skin's condition that day🌿
Today,
please prioritize 'balancing' your skin🫧
Even on days when it feels unstable,
your skin has the power to recover and balance itself☺️

please feel free to leave a comment☺️
