[Must-See for Beginners] How to Get Started with Leonardo.Ai in 5 Minutes

Hello everyone!
I apologize for my slow updates as always m _ _m

Thank you so much to everyone who still gives me a "like" or "follow" despite my relaxed pace!!

Well then, this time I would like to re-introduce how to use
Leonardo.Ai from scratch, which has had many features added since the old days! (There is an app version, but I will explain how to use the website this time.)

*Since Leonardo.Ai is a web service, it doesn't matter what your PC specs are! Even an inexpensive laptop is fine!! (As long as you are connected to the internet)

1. Registering for a Leonardo.Ai account

・First, let's access the website

https://leonardo.ai/

The top screen of Leonardo.Ai looks like this
  • Click the "Get Started" button on the top screen

  • A login screen like the one below will appear (some amazing pictures are displayed, but the pictures shown change every time)

  • Click the account selection button on the left side of the screen

Apple or Microsoft accounts are also fine. You can also register with an email address. Note that the "human verification" check screen may or may not appear.

This time (again?), I will proceed with the explanation using a Google account!

  • Select your account.

Please select your account.
  • Next button.

Please click the Next button.
  • Press the two checkboxes to turn the check ON.

  • Press "Let's Go".

Please read the terms of service~ (It's easy to have an AI summarize them or ask about the content)

Once registration is complete, a brief explanation of how to use it will appear (in English).
If you don't need it, you can close the screen by clicking the X in the top right corner.

If you want to see the explanation later, you can view it by clicking the ? icon at the top of the screen.

As of July 2025, the models available for image generation are as follows.

It seems like new ones have been added since I last checked...

Also, Leonardo.Ai can also generate videos!

However, the required token count (credits needed for generation) is quite high, so if you want to do serious video generation, you will need to sign up for a paid plan.

Recently, Google's "Veo3" has become available for use in Leonardo.Ai.
But the required token count is a whopping 2500... oh my...

② About Paid and Free Plans

Since we've brought up the topic of token counts, let's move on to an explanation of plans!

■ Paid Plans
The lowest price for a paid plan is $12 per month (approximately 1,800 yen at the current exchange rate).
In addition to receiving 8500 tokens per month, you can use Private Mode (a mode where the prompts and images you generate are hidden from others).
As you move up to higher tiers,

・The number of tokens you receive monthly increases

・The number of generations allowed at once and various other restrictions are relaxed
and other benefits increase.
This is similar to other image generation AI services.

It seems like you get 20% off if you sign up for an annual contract.

■ Free Plan
With the free plan, you receive 150 tokens every day! However, it does not accumulate beyond 150!

In other words, please note that you cannot "wait 3 days to save up 450 tokens." Also,

Private Mode cannot be used
, so all images you generate and prompts you use will be visible to others
.

Additionally,
Fixed number of generated images (4 images)
(sometimes it bugs out and you can select other numbers...)

Quality is limited to Fast mode only
(you cannot select high quality)

and so on; the free plan has various restrictions.

Regarding video generation, you can generate videos using the initial model "Motion1.0", but other models
require 150 or more tokens, so you cannot even generate them in the first place...

Since the free plan is like a "trial mode" for Leonardo.Ai, if you want to "use it seriously!", we recommend considering a paid plan.

Below is a list of what you can and cannot do with each rank.
(It is listed at the bottom of the Leonardo.Ai "UpGrade" page.)

There are various differences, such as the number of tokens that carry over to the next month and differences in Relax mode generation.
Please note that so-called "third-party models" such as GPT-Image-1, Flux.1 Kontext, and Veo 3 do not count toward Relax mode.

③ Let's try generating an image!

Now, we will finally start the explanation of image generation! This time, I will show you how to generate images simply.

  • Select "
Image" from the icons at the top of the home screen or the menu on the left.

Either "Image" option works fine.
This is the image generation mode screen.

Here, you can specify models, styles, and more, then enter a prompt to generate images.

It might feel difficult at first, but
you'll get used to it quickly as you use it!

1. Model Selection
・Select an image generation model (choose whichever you like!).
Please note that the required number of tokens varies depending on the model.

2. Style Selection
・Select an image style (choose whichever you like!).
The atmosphere can change completely depending on the style you choose.

3. Change Generated Image Size
・Select the image size you want to output.
(It's convenient because the names of various social media platforms are displayed.)

4. Enter Prompt
・Enter a prompt for the image you want to generate.

* If you select the
star-like icon to the left of the "Generate" button
and press "New Random Prompt",
Leonardo.Ai will automatically enter a random prompt for you.

5. Press the Generate button
Wait a moment and the generated image will be displayed!

Basically, you will generate images following the steps 1-5 above.

Now you can generate images!
Congratulations!

Also, as mentioned in the free membership section,
you need to be a paid member to change the quality or number of images.
Please be aware of this!

When generating for the first time, a
guide might appear in the bottom right,
but you can generate images without any issues even if you don't do anything.

④ I want to know more about Leonardo.Ai!

If so, there is an official learning page.

https://leonardo.ai/learn/

(It is in English, but you can view it in Japanese by using Google Translate or similar tools.)

Also, videos are uploaded on YouTube and other platforms, so
if you are interested, I think it would be helpful to take a look.

Conclusion

That concludes the explanation of the simplest way to use it!

Leonardo.Ai can do quite a lot,
so it would be very long if I explained everything at once...

So, I will keep this explanation simple for now!
(Well, other people have already
provided wonderfully deep explanations of how to use it,
so I feel there is no need for me to explain it...)

Compared to last year, Leonardo.Ai has added many models and capabilities.

I'm sure it will continue to evolve in the future...
Let's keep checking it out continuously!

Thank you for reading this far!
If you found this article helpful, it would encourage me if you could press the "♡ Like" button!
