【Spring Search Walk】Walking 1km with my daughter, we found spring everywhere🌸 (An afternoon of flowers and Japanese sweets)

Today, I went for a walk with my daughter.

There was only one goal.

To "find spring"🌸

I wanted to participate in Marumori Happa-san's event, so
I invited my daughter, saying,
"Shall we go look for spring-like things!"

My daughter was full of enthusiasm✨

"Alright! I'm going to find lots of spring!"

It turned into a little adventure.

Our destination was a park 1km from our house.

"I wonder if we'll find lots of spring?"

We set off while talking about that.


The first thing that caught our eyes was plum blossoms.

It seems many houses plant a few of them,
so they were blooming everywhere as we walked.

And what's more, they were almost in full bloom!

"They're beautiful!"

My daughter and I stopped to look, and we found spring right away🌸

There was also a place along the way with many white plum trees, which my daughter says is her favorite spot☺️

The next thing we found was
a small blue flower.

When I looked it up, it was a flower called speedwell.

It seems its other name is
"Star's Eye".

It's a perfect and romantic name for such a cute flower🥰


Next was the henbit.

It's a different type from the seven spring herbs,
the kind that blooms with lots of small purple flowers.

Do you know this one?

The nectar at the base of the flower,
it's sweet when you suck on it.

I used to do that a lot when I was a child... so,
I tried it with my daughter for the first time in a while✨

A nostalgic taste.


As we walked further,
we also discovered small yellow flowers.

At first I thought they were small canola flowers, but
when I looked it up, it seems to be a flower called field pennycress.

And near there,
there was also a colony of shepherd's purse!
I felt warm inside remembering how I used to play with shepherd's purse on the way home from school with friends back in the day☺️

Lots of spring wildflowers.

Along the way,
there was also a house that had planted moss phlox.

"It's already the season for them to bloom, isn't it?"

My daughter and I were surprised.

There was also a house with camellias planted,
so just by walking, we encountered all sorts of spring.

And then, we arrived at the destination park.

Here, we found two types of buds.

One wascherry blossom buds.

They were still tightly closed,
but it feels like spring is getting closer♪

The other was white magnolia buds.

These had grown quite large,
and looked like they were about to bloom soon🌸

Spring is on standby✨

At the park,
we also found a small bird.

After we got home and looked it up,
it seems to be a bird called a dusky thrush.

It's a winter migratory bird,
and they say it flies north when spring comes.

Could it be that
it was preparing for its departure?


The trees in the park didn't have leaves yet, but
we also discovered a bird's nest high up!

I wonder if it's a crow's nest?
You can't find them when there are lots of leaves, so I felt a bit lucky♪

When spring comes,
it looks like it will get lively again😊

On the way home,
my daughter suddenly squatted down on the side of the road.

I wondered what was wrong,so I took a peek,
and there was lots of clover!
It seems she waslooking for a four-leaf clover🍀

We didn't find one this time, but
I hope we find one next time!

Walking leisurely,
before I knew it, we had been walking for about 2 hours.

Looking at the clock, it's almost 3 o'clock.

That's right.

It's snack time🍡

And today,
"We want to eat spring-like snacks!"

so...

we decided todrive to a friend's shop (lol)


We visited
a Japanese confectionery shop with an attached cafe,

"Kashiho Ineya"'s"Peach Tree Cafe"

In the spirit of spring,
we ordered sakura mochi and domyoji.

…but,

there were too many other delicious-looking things, so
we ended up ordering various things (lol)


My daughter, who loves matcha,
ordered a matcha latteandmatcha castella.

She was very happy swirling the matcha sauce
poured over the fluffy layer on top of the matcha latte☺️
She was eating the matcha castella

while dipping it in whipped cream,
looking like she was enjoying it.

I ordered


the limited-time
strawberry and matcha anmitsu (half size)and
a blended coffee.The strawberry and matcha ice cream

toppings were cute🍓
It also had gyuhi and whipped cream on it,

so it was more filling than it looked✨
My daughter looked like she wanted to eat it, so



I said, "Shall we eat it together?"and



she ate almost all the strawberries (lol)Since it's anmitsu,


the agar comes out from under the toppings, but...


surprise!It also contained matcha-flavored agar✨

The matcha aroma was strong,

and this was also delicious🥰

Of course,the sakura mochianddomyojiwere also thoroughly enjoyed✨

I like the domyoji,
where the grainy texture of the rice is fun,
but my daughter seems to be on the sakura mochi side,
where the pink chewy dough is cute☺️

The exquisite saltiness of the leaf
brings out the sweetness of the bean paste,it's the best!

A quite luxurious snack,
we finished it all cleanly (ate too much🤣)


The leisurely spring-searching walk,
which started because of Marumori Happa-san's
event.

In the end, we also ate delicious snacks,

and it became a very wonderful day🌸
