We are Habashita Kindergarten, a private kindergarten located in Nishi-ku, Nagoya.

In this note, we will gradually write about the daily life at our kindergarten and the childcare that becomes visible through the figures of the children.
Observing each child carefully
When watching the children's days,
even if they are not major events,
there are many small moments that remain in our hearts.
Staring intently.
Feeling a little hesitant.
Suddenly turning their eyes toward what a friend is doing.
Being absorbed and repeating the same thing over and over.
In such figures,
we can sometimes see that child's own thoughts and movements of the heart.
At Habashita Kindergarten,
while carefully observing each individual,
we value interacting with the children.
Gently supporting what children want to do
At Habashita Kindergarten, we value child-centered childcare.
Child-centered does not mean
simply letting the children have their own way,
nor does it mean leaving everything to the children.
It means that teachers arrange the environment, time, and relationships so that children can choose, try, devise, and interact with others on their own.

While valuing the children's thoughts,
we add materials, offer words, or wait a little when necessary.
Rather than the teacher being too prominent,
we support them while leaving room for the children to feel, think, and move on their own.
At Habashita Kindergarten, we value such interactions.
Growing through daily life and play
Children encounter many things in their daily life and play at the kindergarten.
Touching sand and water.
Finding plants and insects.
Watching what friends are doing.
Choosing and trying things for themselves.
Trying again when things don't go well.
Gradually giving shape to things while exchanging words with friends.
In each of those moments,
there is important growth that is hard to see from the results alone.
At Habashita Kindergarten,
we value the time children spend feeling, trying, devising, and interacting
in their daily life and play.
What we would like to share in this note
On Instagram, we share scenes from the kindergarten through photos and short captions.
In this note, we hope to write a little more carefully about things that cannot be fully conveyed through photos alone,
such as the children's behavior, the small movements of their hearts,
and the watchful eyes of our teachers.
