46. Writing a novel while recovering from the flu and strep throat
Is this even possible? My fever went down, and I thought I was fine to go back to work, but my throat started hurting. Like, really hurting. When I cough, I can't stop. It's not normal. Even with a mask on, I was coughing so much I felt terrible, so I went back to the hospital and it turned out to be strep throat.
Wait, can you really get infected with things back-to-back like that? Seriously? How weak is my immune system? Well, I don't have any other symptoms besides a sore throat, but I can't take time off at the end of the month anyway, so I had someone cover my shift and I'm taking today off.
So, since I have some time, I'm writing a novel, but when I re-read it, I wanted to shove in some extra ideas, so I'm currently redoing it from the beginning.
That's why I never finish anything! Well, but you do get extra ideas while you're writing, right?
Being a perfectionist is no good!
However, doing this extra work helps me understand the characters I've created even better. It helps prevent things like, 'This guy wouldn't say something like that.' I think. It takes time, and it might be a waste of effort, but maybe writing down the invisible daily life of characters is important. I don't know, though.
It adds realism. More than anything, it's like writing fan fiction, so I'm having fun (lol).
I'm not going to be able to sleep tonight! This is too much fun!!!
