To Creators Who Fear AI—Steady, Diligent Creation Will Become the Strength That Supports You

I believe there are many people engaged in creative activities, such as those who draw illustrations, compose music, or write stories. I am one of them.

Recently, AI has become increasingly intelligent, taking over tasks that humans used to do. I feel that, as a result, more people are handing over the act of creation to AI. Some even insist that things randomly output by AI are 'made by themselves' and post them on social media.

What on earth are they looking for?
They are surely seeking approval and 'likes.' And right now, even AI-generated illustrations can get a decent reaction. A certain number of people will react, and some even engage in 'like-for-like' cycles just to get their own 'likes'.

However, if I may be blunt, all you get from using AI illustrations is that kind of 'hollow approval.'
I suspect they are longing for the 'surface' of the lives and presence of those who are highly regarded for their illustrations or music—things visible from the outside—and are trying to become like them.

That is precisely why, when they finally receive that approval, they realize how empty what they were aiming for actually was.
Once you get used to being evaluated, there is nothing beyond that. There is only a version of yourself that is being 'evaluated.' Moreover, that version of you being evaluated has left most of the actual skill to AI. If AI were to disappear, you would be left with nothing. Is that really okay?

No matter how many tools appear that can generate pictures better than yours with the click of a button, and no matter how advanced they become, the value of the art you drew by hand from scratch or the music you composed from nothing will never diminish.

This is because the illustrations and music you output, based on the world you see, what you yourself have felt, and the experience you have accumulated, are surely one of a kind.

That is why I want you to clearly distinguish 'what you truly like' and 'what you truly want to do' from other AI users. You should be careful to check whether those desires are merely aimed at approval or a glamorous lifestyle.

I believe that creative activity is born not from such superficial desires, but from pure urges like 'I want to express this,' 'I want to see this,' or 'I want this kind of thing to exist in the world.' Please, cherish those feelings.

I believe AI will eventually settle into a good form. We are just in a transitional period right now, and the value of things generated without any ingenuity should eventually decline.

And when the situation calms down, I predict that AI will become a tool that can boost your own creative activities in a better way, without you ever stopping your own thinking process.

I believe that will happen, so I hope we can all continue to create works with sincerity.

If you can continue to create with sincerity, you will surely keep getting better.

Even if AI suddenly stops working, your hands will still move.

Even if the world were to go back to square one, we can still create.

Just keep steadily, diligently honing your skills.
