[Self-Introduction] Who is Gussan?

Hello. I'm Gussan.
I usually interact on X, but since it's difficult to express myself within the limited 140 characters, I decided to use note this time.

It's been about half a year since I started on X, and thanks to everyone, I have over 1,000 followers.

I personally value connections and relationships, and I have a desire to cherish warm interactions even in the digital world.

I think it's meaningful if you can just get to know what kind of person "Gussan" is through this self-introduction.

・From Kagoshima City
・Changed jobs and returned to a local company (U-turn)
・Family of 5: wife, eldest son (10), eldest daughter (8), and second son (4)

Rough Career History

Graduated from local graduate school (25 years old)

Worked for 8 years in development at a general electronics manufacturer (32 years old)
⇓ Decided to change jobs when my eldest daughter was born
Returned to a local company (U-turn)
⇓ DX promotion, new business planning, IT consulting work
Present (41 years old)

After graduating from a local university, I got a job at a general electronics manufacturer headquartered in Tokyo. There, as a project leader for PC and tablet software development, I worked with people from various countries such as China, Taiwan, the US, and Germany, and I spent my days working as hard as I could from morning till night while being bewildered by the differences in culture and customs. English was the main language, but being able to work while interacting with people from overseas was stimulating for me, and I felt a sense of fulfillment and satisfaction in working in a wide world. On the other hand, because of the time difference with overseas, meetings often lasted until late at night, and I spent my days leaving home early in the morning and returning late at night, sacrificing time with my family and sleep.

At the age of 32, I reached a crossroads when my boss talked to me about an overseas assignment. There was the option of an overseas assignment to get promoted, but since my wife was pregnant with our eldest daughter, after repeated family meetings, we decided to return to my hometown at this timing. Both my wife and I are from Kagoshima, so the desire to return to Kagoshima someday also supported this decision.

Since returning home, I have been doing DX promotion, new business planning, and IT consulting work. I'm sugarcoating it with cool words, but in short, I'm a jack-of-all-trades (lol).
It's been 8 years since I returned, and compared to my previous workplace, I am entrusted with responsible work while living a more human life.

What kind of personality is Gussan?

I'm not the type to think before I act, but the type to think while I act.
I feel like I used to have ups and downs in my mood, but since I started morning activities, those ups and downs have disappeared, and I've become positive.
Also, I feel like I've become more gentle than before. Is this because of my age? Or is it because I have more room in my heart...?

Hobbies and Interests

[Hobbies]
・Fishing
・Snorkeling
・Muscle training
・Running
・Sauna

I just love the ocean.
It might be because the ocean was right in front of my parents' house, but I've been watching the ocean regardless of the season since I was a child. For me, the ocean and Sakurajima are power spots.
Since returning home, depending on the season, I enjoy fishing and snorkeling on weekends.

Also, running and muscle training, which I started as a diet, have become hobbies or rather habits. It's incredibly refreshing to wake up early and run near the ocean while listening to music.

What I want to share

On X, I interact with everyone through three main themes.

  • How to create timeabout

  • Body maintenanceabout

  • How to create peace of mindabout

"Creating time"is something I consciously changed in order to change myself.
I still vividly remember the moment I thought I had to change.

I have three children, and since returning home, I thought I was spending time with my family, actively participating in school events, and watching them grow.

Yes, I thought I was watching. In fact, my children were growing up rapidly without me knowing, and I hadn't noticed those changes.

For me, the fact that "I thought I was watching them grow, but I missed it" was a huge shock, and the strong thought that "I can't go on like this. I have to change now!" was the trigger for me to start being conscious of "creating time."

Specifically, I created time by aiming for zero overtime while finding ways to improve quality without reducing the amount of work, incorporating morning activities, and reducing unnecessary drinking parties and social engagements.

By creating time, the time I can use for my family and myself has increased significantly. Now, I have more opportunities to talk and play with my children.
I also have time to share the children's growth with my wife and cook together. Not only that, but my personal time has also increased, and I have been able to devote time to running and muscle training, and I also consciously put effort into"body maintenance".

Strangely enough, when changes appeared in my body, my posture straightened, and my expression became brighter. My feelings naturally started looking forward, and my way of thinking became positive. When you think positively,"peace of mind"is created.

The three themes are all connected for me, and if even one of them is missing, the balance will collapse. On X, I share my own tips for maintaining the balance of these three.

Also, I thought I had to change after turning 39, and I am making efforts to change. Subjectively, I feel that as people get older, conservative thinking becomes stronger, and many people cannot escape from it."The self you want to be" is in your heartbut,
"I don't know where to start!"
"It's impossible for me in the first place!"
"I'm at a good age, so I can't change now!" etc.,
aren't there many people who can't take a step forward because of various biases? With that thought, I have a desire to push the backs of those who can't take that step,"No matter how old you are, you can change yourself and your tomorrow depending on your feelings"I want to push them.

I wrote it in a good way, but I also decided to start X and a blog with the feeling of"Let's try anything!". After all, you don't know anything unless you try, right? So, I'm doing it. Believing that failure is a valuable experience for success, I will continue to push forward. Everyone, thank you for your continued support. If you are interested in me, please follow me. Also, I update my blog regularly, so please come and visit if you'd like.
