Reflecting on Daily Posts (Author's Rest Episode)
In about a month, I will reach the one-year milestone that I set as the cutoff for daily updates.
For some, a year is nothing, but for others, it is a significant amount of time. For me, it feels like it has been a long time, yet now that I think about it, it feels like it was just around the corner.
And here I am, coming to my senses... wondering why I decided to try and keep up daily updates for a year.
When I think about it carefully, I didn't really have a specific goal or make a formal declaration; I feel like it just somehow became a thing where I thought, 'I have to update every day for a year!' (;´Д`) Aren't I an idiot?
That's a bit much, or rather, if my motivation runs out here, I won't be able to make it through the remaining month... or actually, I'm on the edge of a cliff even now, so I think I'll try to think of the reason I forgot.If I don't have one, I'll fabricate it.
I want to feel a sense of accomplishment.
Basically, I have a tendency to give up easily, so perhaps I wanted something like a 'I did it!' feeling.
I disappeared for about half a year starting early in the month after I began using note, but I remember that I had a bit of a breakthrough regarding the 'family circumstances' that caused my disappearance, and as a reaction to that, I wanted to leave something tangible behind.
I want to build a track record.
It's that thing you see in profiles and such. The kind that says 100,000 page views in a month, 5,000 followers, etc.I haven't reached that, nor am I aiming for it.
Since I'm not really trying to influence others, it's a track record for my own sake, I suppose.
Like, if I've updated every day for a year, maybe I can do other things too?
Oh, I sometimes write articles that I call 'unauthorized collaborations' where I fuse what I want to write with the content of my followers, so when I bring those projects to the table, this 'persistence is power' type of track record might be significant. But wait, is a track record of taking nearly a year from the initial outreach to realization actually bad? (゚д゚) Sorry about that.
<Writing a lot like this>
I want to gain know-how
Since I'm at it, I'll choose the red door I tried various things this past year, thinking that the experience gained from daily updates might be useful elsewhere.
How to pad out articles, or resurrection methods for how to reuse a single article twice... wait, I've only accumulated bad know-how, haven't I? \(^o^)/
I want to collect/share data
When I started note, I peeked at the gardens of my neighbors who seemed to be doing it casually, only to find myself at a loss because they were all hardcore users like an amusement park, which led to the flow of regretting publishing my own raw values.
I think a one-year milestone was just right, as a certain amount of volume would be necessary if I were to collect data.
I think this kind of data is self-evident if you read articles by experts, but it's fun to explore things with your own hands, including off-base guesses, and I thought it might make it feel more relatable.
Setting aside information sharing, this position and content are not intended to teach know-how, so I do not guarantee accuracy or the like. In that case, you need to verify it by referring to other articles as well.
In the end, I don't know the clear reason why I did it, but I think it was a compromise where various things mixed together and, by majority vote, I ended up updating daily for a year.
Oh, there was something close to a deciding factor...
It felt like a waste to stop, so I lost track of when to quit (lol)
It's blunt, but this might account for a fairly large weight (゚д゚)
Come to think of it, when I thought about my own writing ability, I wrote something about how if I kept writing for about a year, something might become clear... I guess I wanted to try various things, like building up practice swings.
Well, there's about a month left. At this point, I'm in a state of Hahaha, I've won, I'm going to take a bath, so I might as well leisurely revive some articles from my stock box! (Zero ammunition left)
<There is a sequel>
It's highly likely that this article was also hastily deployed as a stopgap... My know-how is being put to good use. Also, on 2004/8/17, I reached a total of 30,000 PV. Thank you all for your daily support. m(_ _)m Currently, at a relatively fast pace of 600-1000 PV per week, and since other analysis articles are also half-finished, I'm thinking I'd like to do the usual reflection article around 40,000 or 50,000 PV.
