A Certain Scene (ﾟ∀ﾟ) 010 "Toddler and the Soft Serve Boy"

Humans, especially in childhood, can sometimes feel envious of what others possess.Wait, are there more greedy adults?

I also had something I was very envious of in my childhood... and that is the soft serve ice cream that boy is holding.

Since it's being held by a child who is slightly older or about the same height, I can easily imagine myself holding one too. Especially since a soft serve that size is something I could never finish, the way it looks like he could polish it off is truly the embodiment of a dream.

So, every time I made eye contact with him, I would always envy that soft serve, thinking, "He's eating that so deliciously..."

His name is apparently Nick-kun, and he even has a girlfriend named Sei-chan... Jealousy and romance-obsessed brain, give me a break!

While I wondered if Sei-chan was around back then, seeing the two of them side-by-side on the packaging made them look so familiar that I thought, "Why did I forget about them!"

Since soft serve was introduced to Japan in 1951 (when they were 5), they have been working hard to popularize it ever since they visited Japan shortly after.

It's no wonder I wasn't familiar with their names; they were named later in 2001, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of ice cream's introduction (when they were 5).

When I reunited with him after a long time, I still felt envious of the soft serve he was holding. I wonder if that means I've become a greedy adult, or if my childhood longing hasn't faded away yet... Ah, I want to eat soft serve! (ﾟ∀ﾟ)ノシ
