A Sunday that didn't go as planned, and a story about 400 yen
Good evening! It's Gumichoco ☺️
This is a story from last Sunday!
It was raining, so we couldn't play outside. The kids started playing tag and jump rope inside the house (I was seriously worried the house was going to break 😱), and playing indoors reached its limit.
So, I thought, 'Let's go play at the children's center!' ✨ But... to my surprise, it was closed 😱 (It was actually written on the website... I should have checked). And I went to two different places, but both were closed...
Naturally, the kids wouldn't stop booing, so I had no choice but to say,
“Up to 100 yen each, okay!”
and we decided to go to the claw machine.
The kids got all excited, shouting 'Yay!!', and in the car, they were pumped up, saying, 'I'll definitely stick to the budget! But I'm definitely going to win something!' when we arrived.
At first, they intended to stick to it.
But, it's the usual thing.
It's about to fall if I try just a little more.
It's frustrating to give up after coming this far.
If I stop now, the next person might get it.
The kids were completely caught in the claw machine's strategy, and as I watched from the side,
I reluctantly added another 100 yen, saying,
“...Well, let's just say this one is for Mom.”
Then, another blow.
My 2-year-old wouldn't let go, saying,
“I want to ride the Anpanman!”
At first, I told her no, but once I realized it only cost 30 yen to ride,
with the feeling of 'If it makes her this happy for 30 yen...', and the 2-year-old's strong insistence,
I ended up adding another 100 yen, again under the guise of it being for the 2-year-old.
My second and third daughters rode the Anpanman, and my third daughter was steering the handle left and right like a street racer attacking a mountain pass 🤣 The Anpanman moved here and there, my second daughter was pressing buttons and attacking something, and the two of them were having a blast 🤣
And so,
the plans were completely ruined, and it cost 400 yen 😭💦
But the result was surprisingly a big victory ✨
Three KitKats,
about 20 candies,
about 10 tiny chocolate balls,
and about 10 of those 10-yen jellies.
Everyone was satisfied 😊
They were in a good mood on the way home too 🌟 A little snack party started right there in the car on the way back, and they happily ate them as we headed home 😚
Eldest and second daughter: 'It was fun winning things! I want to do it again 🥹 Mom, let's go again next week!'
Me: 'We aren't going next week! Today was a special occasion (my catchphrase 🤣). Next time, let's try the children's center again or go play at the park!'
It was a Sunday that didn't go as planned, but
if we could have this much fun for 400 yen,
I think it was a pretty good day after all 😊🌷
