This is what my husband is like when faced with Alto Bayern and Fukusaya castella.
My husband has a slightly unusual habit of eating large quantities of his favorite foods all by themselves.
The first instance was before we were married.
It happened when I went to visit his apartment.
He opened the refrigerator, slowly took out a pack of Alto Bayern, and started munching on them straight from the bag.
I froze in surprise.
"Wait, is that okay!? Raw!?"
In my mind, sausages are meant to be grilled or boiled.
The idea of eating them as-is had never occurred to me.
Then my husband said, with a completely straight face,
"Huh? You can eat them without cooking them, you know."
Half-doubting, I looked at the bag, and sure enough, it was clearly written there.
"As this product is pre-cooked, it can be eaten as-is."
……Indeed.
I was the one who was wrong.
But even so, that was the first time I had ever seen someone eat multiple Alto Bayern sausages like they were snacks.
However, this was only the beginning.
It happened when we went on a trip to Nagasaki.
My husband is a fan of Fukusaya's castella.
He seems to especially love those sugar crystals on the bottom.
At the hotel where we stayed, a "Midnight Castella Party" was held night after night.
Of course, I participated too, so I am an accomplice.
……That said, this is business as usual for us.
Previously, when we traveled to Otaru, he also ate LeTAO's Double Fromage in the middle of the night, calling it a "Midnight Cheesecake Party".
Of course, I also attended that party.
At Nagasaki Airport, on our way home after fully enjoying Nagasaki.
My husband bought two 0.6-size boxes of Fukusaya castella.
I assumed he would eat them after we got home.
I thought so without a shadow of a doubt.
Since we had time before boarding, we were relaxing in the waiting area when—
My husband slowly took out a box of castella.
He opened the wrapping.
…No way.
Right here!?
“Yuka-chan, you should have some too.”
Once he said that, of course I was going to eat some.
The Fukusaya castella we ate in the airport waiting area was, of course, delicious.
…No, that’s not the point.
My husband, who couldn't wait until we got home, and me, who ate it with him while saying, “This is delicious.”
Conclusion.
My husband is strange.
…But I am equally guilty for eating it with him.
