[Penang Travelogue #04] The Prestige Hotel Penang Stay Report | A Recommended Hotel for a Relaxing Adult Getaway
For my trip to Penang, I stayed at The Prestige Hotel Penang in George Town.
In conclusion, it was a hotel I would definitely want to stay at again if I visit Penang.
It is not a luxury hotel that feels too grand or intimidating; rather, it has a calm, cozy atmosphere where you can relax without feeling stiff, even when traveling alone.
In this post, I will share details about the Deluxe Room I stayed in and my personal impressions of the experience.
After arriving at Penang International Airport, I took a Grab to the hotel.
It takes about 40 minutes from the airport to the hotel.
The fare was around RM30 (approx. 1,200 yen), which is quite reasonable compared to Japan.
At the time of my visit, the road in front of the hotel was under construction, making it a bit difficult to find, but the female Grab driver managed to drop me off right in front of the hotel without any issues 🚗
After checking in, a staff member escorted me to my room and kindly explained the facilities and hotel amenities.
This level of hospitality adds a special touch.
I stayed in a Deluxe Room this time.
The first thing I noticed upon entering was how spacious it felt. Even with a king-size bed, there was no sense of clutter, and there was plenty of room for a round table and chairs.

The interior, based on calm colors with gold accents, was elegant and gave the impression of a hotel for adults.
The furniture and lighting were well-coordinated, creating a space that prioritizes comfort over flashiness.
There was enough space to spread out my luggage, making it comfortable even for a multi-night stay.
The room was equipped with a Nespresso coffee machine.
In addition to coffee capsules, there was also TWG tea, which is a nice touch for those who enjoy spending time relaxing in their room.

Soft drinks in the refrigerator were free.
Whatever I drank was replenished the next day. My favorite was the lychee carbonated juice on the top left.

All necessary amenities were provided.
They were neatly arranged on a wooden tray, which looked quite luxurious.
The attention to detail in the design is a hallmark of this hotel.

The shower room was glass-walled and had a curtain on the outside. It might feel a bit awkward if you weren't traveling alone, but I didn't mind and just left the curtain open while I showered (lol).

What impressed me during my stay was how quiet it was.
It might have been the timing, but I never encountered other guests in the elevator.
I didn't hear any noise from the hallway in my room, and the entire hotel was wrapped in a calm atmosphere.
Since resting well at the hotel is important when traveling alone, I was very grateful for this quietness.
With the staff's service, the comfort of the room, and the free drinks, the satisfaction level was high, making the stay itself a highlight of the trip.
It is also a convenient base for sightseeing in George Town, so I can confidently recommend The Prestige Hotel Penang to those who:
* Want to stay at a hotel with a special feel
* Want to stay safely even when traveling alone
* Like hotels with a calm atmosphere
When I stayed, a 3-night stay in a Deluxe Room (without breakfast) cost about 63,000 yen.
This hotel is a participant in Marriott Bonvoy, so members may be able to earn points or use points for stays on eligible bookings.
I don't collect Marriott points, so I booked through Expedia this time. Since room rates fluctuate depending on the season, I recommend comparing prices on both the official website and booking sites before choosing.
I had no major complaints during my stay and was able to spend my time comfortably. I hope this helps those planning a trip to Penang choose their hotel 😊
